Phish is doing a show from 1989 on Tuesday
Holy shit yea
René kinda sounds like the man.
Assuming those pictures are still shots from the footage. This is going to be hilarious and awesome.
Supremely pumped for the dinner and a movie opener
unfortunately, they only have footage of Set II.
I looked on Relisten and they only have one set. I just assumed that’s the set we’ll see Tuesday?
Nope. Just Set II.
Happy 10th birthday to the greatest concert I’ve ever been to, by far
The shot from the pit, Mike’s side, is where I was standing.
I was pretty much even with Trey, but on the lawn. Goat lawn, btw
Found set 2
Mikes>IAH>Weekapaug, On your way down, Possum, Icculus, Forbin>Mockingbird, David Bowie E: Contact
On the way from Charlotte to Atlanta, I heard (I think via PT) that Phish had sound checked KITNO. Instantly knew they were about to go into it when I heard the opening notes in the middle of Harpua. Such a fun show.
Hell yeah. Shreddin’ some Feat!
Been the best part so far. I honestly could do without the ridiculous camera work
the ole "guy tripping balls with camera" technique. It's taught in your better film schools iirc
The fisheye lens is being used far too much. I mean I get it, but gosh dang
René sold ‘em a bill of goods!!
How proud do you think Trey was of that pun when he came up with it?
It's avant garde!
To the max
I enjoyed the video. Made it feel like an old skate video.
Yes. Can’t even shoot skate vids without the fisheye
GOAT (my favorite) Taste 7/22/97
Edit: Go to about the 6 minute mark if you just want the electric guitar glory fwiw
Also, they really really need to have 12/31/93 for dinner and a movie before this thing wraps
I was at that show.
I.. crazy how memories works... I remember fragments of that trip --- like, after the show ending up in some cracked out scene in a hotel room with a couple of nitrous tanks and I had lost my contact lenses and glasses
Missed the anniversary post yesterday as I was in the field, but HBD to the Lakewood Ghost aka the goat.
Another great ghost from 97
Yeah, Denver is certainly up there. Lakewood, Radio City, and Big Cat are probably my top 3, but Nuremberg, Copenhagen (98), Prague, Desert Sky (98), Portland, and IT are all great as well.
The YEM is also an all timer, to me. Absolutely legendary show that I’ve listened to start to finish no less than 20 times
Don’t sleep on the Melt, either. I also absolutely love these versions of Julius and Billy Breathes.
Definitely my favorite Julius
7.23.99 is a badass Ghost too
Was literally just searching for this thread to post this. Bringing the goods for sure. Really hope we get a 2.0 show at some point, but I can imagine Trey being a bit hesitant on that.
It’s so fucking on. By the way, looked up Gamehendge on Wikipedia and apparently Reba is a character, but isn’t part of the original suite. Didn’t know that
This is the A Live One Stash as well.
maybe the best one?...Definitely in the top few.
I love the old stuff, but I'll take as much modern MSG as they want to give. The production and the lights are just that much better. Especially the BD run.
Absolutely pumped for tonight, brahs
This is amazing.
Gotta be pretty goddamn cocky to open with llama. Just sayin
This guitar, y’all
This is the perfect Phish video.
I’m so happy.
Doesn’t get better than this, boys.
Just tuning in, what’d i miss
The first 20 seconds of AC/DC Bag tell me quite a bit
Y’all mind if I flip out a little bit?
