Last time at mermaids I got a 60 year old Russian whore for a waitress. Good frozen drinks tho
I would actually rather pay more for a hot ass bitch to bring me drinks than an old nasty
It was pretty fun to tip with nickels.
Also, the place across the street from mermaids and ABC has 2/$3 A-B family 24oz cans. Cheaper than gambling and tipping, actually.
there was an illegal eastern european chick at mermaids who was pretty hot
lol it's funny to buy alcohol in vegas bc you're like wait why am i paying for alcohol when I get it for free although there's some deals you can actually get cheaper than getting the "free" alcohol after tips and what not
for example, you can go to the walgreens and buy a handle of captain and drink it while walking to the bellagio fountains
When you think about it the drinks are costing you more than tips if you're gambling while you wait for the drink. But for walking around and shit you can't beat the deals on booze at the ABC's Walgreens, Etc
Yeah you can think ab it that way but I'm gonna gamble that money anyways whether I get drinks or not. So drinks are just ab bonus imo
People keep talking about cheap tables. Maybe it is different than AC or it is bigger, but once it gets dark usually most BJ tables are 25 and up and there are some randome $15 tables around and maybe one $10 table usually stacked deep with people wanting to get in.
I know during the day there are usually a ton of low minimum tables.
Same in Vegas on the strip or are there also a bunch of cheap tables?? Or are there just some casinos that have cheap tables.
At the higher end casinos it's as you describe. But there are so many casinos that many of them have low minimums even into the night to get people in. You won't find a $10 table at Caesars, but there are lots of them out there.
when I was there almost all the casinos had at minimum $10 tables even at night. Some casinos has $5.
Downtown is the place to find cheap tables on a regular basis. If you look you can always find $10 on strip and usually some 5. Hell Bellagio has $5 during the day. Cosmo is the only place I've never been able to find a a cheap table.
hard rock goes 5
found plenty of $5 tables at o'shea's, IP, harrah's, bill's...during the day you can ding $5 - $10 tables at the higher-end places too (found a $5 craps table at aria one afternoon)
downtown you won't find many that are more expensive than $5
i just wanna go now
Me too. Fucking flights are a killer.
And by that like I mean dislike
This made me laugh. And hate you. All at the same time.
I'll be there on Friday, stopping for a night on the way to LA.
Anyone have good late night food recs? I'll be getting in town by 11pm with my girlfriend and would like to have a decent meal.
Bill's steak and eggs lol
where are you staying? I would just check the restaurants in there and see if any of them are open. Some buffets are open 24 hours
Caesars and I know they have a 24/7 noodles place, just not sure I want that.
The Sugar Factory has reasonably priced ($15-25) good food and is right in front of Paris on the strip. They also have a $1 million lolly pop
But the Grande Lux Cafe in the Ventian is my absolute favorite place to eat in Vegas for a reasonably priced meal
Perfect driving on the Strip song.
Where are you going to be staying?
Has anyone ever stayed at the MGM Signature?
No, but I've heard good things about it. More of a getaway type place than the regular MGM Grand hotel. If you're going to spend a lot of time in the room its good, but if you're out most of the time there are much better options imo
I'm most likely going to a Hard Rock casino one afternoon this weekend. I have been before and done well playing roulette and a couple other games(FU blackjack) anyway I am thinking about trying poker for the first time.
So my question is how much minimum would I need to bring to play competitively?
min tables are 1/2 blinds so at least 100-200
How often are you going to play? If you are just going to sit down at a 1-2 table one time and leave and not play anymore if you bust then a full stack of $200 is fine. $300 for a 1-3 table. $500 for 2-5, etc. If you are planning on playing a bunch, then you just need to decide how many buy-ins you are willing to risk. The minimum buy-in at a 1-2 table is $100, but I'd never buy-in for the minimum unless I just wanted to short stack for some reason (it's a legitimate strategy but only if you know the math extremely well, are really good at it, and know what you are doing), or because I suck.
Shit Ill just wait on poker until I graduate and start my real job in Jan.
hate to be that guy but I don't have time to catch up on the thread right now. Didn't think it would be relevant for at least a few years but I might go to Vegas for New Years. Buddy's mom has several rooms comped so he is getting a group, all we gotta do it get a flight and pay or our food and shit.
I am looking for the best flight deal possible. I live in Memphis so I'll prolly have to drive to Nashville/Little Rock/OKC to get a flight for under $900, but I figured you Titans of Industry would be able to hook me up with some sound advice. A million TIA
under $900 shouldn't be a problem. What dates you looking at?
Kayak.com is really good
haha I'm trying to find something around $300
I know the chances are slim. Dates are Dec. 29-Jan 2. My dad lives in OKC so I'm trying to find a way to get out there (my car is fucked, doesn't travel long distances well) bc I saw a flight last night that was ~360ish out of there.
My budget is gonna be tiny bc I'm in law school but I figure I won't get a chance to go to Vegas for a long time, I have never been, and I will hate myself if I pass up a chance to go for only flight + my food and gambling
Find an airport Airtran or SW flies out of and wait for them to have a sale. Airtran has ATL to Vegas for $260 pretty often. Actually has a sale right now.
Memphis to Vegas is $166 each way at its cheapest on Airtran....
whena re the best times to look, Tues nights?
If I find it for $166 I'm on that shit like yesterday
That is $166 each way so $332 RT.
from a quick kayak.com search it doesn't look good for a ~$300 flight.
Flights around NYE is probably killing you.
still perfectly cool by me. If I can find a flight cheap enough I can get either my mom or dad to just get it for me for christmas which frees up a nice little chunk for me to gamble/eat with. re: when will the best time to jump on this shit be? I see on the side where it says $166 fare from Memphis to Vegas but when I search the flight for the dates I want to go I'm getting ~330-380 each way
best I found so far
Budget pro tip...
- Across the street from the Bellagio there's a shitty little casino called Casino Royale. Really low limits. At the bar, they have 1 dollar margaritas and Michelob Lager bottles. Don't get the margaritas. They suck. Stop in and get a 6 pack of Michelob lagers (theyll give you the cardboard 6 pack holder) and then just walk the strip with said beers. It's right in the middle of the strip so a good pit stop location to fill up on cheap beer as you walk. Or stop in and play low limit craps.
Stayed there July 4th weekend. Nice buildings with nice rooms. We got a suite which was ridiculous. Only complaint was how far you had to walk to get to the strip from our room. Felt like a mile by the time you get thru the whole MGM casino. Real easy walk to Wet Republic tho.
Nice. I'm looking for a place to rent for around two months so I don't mind being removed from the casino. I just wanted to make sure the suites (I will be in a junior) are nice.
It says 24 hours on their website
Grand Luxe Cafe is a glorified cheesecake factory
but it's delicious
