Been open at least a year. Went over super bowl weekend last year.
Going in May for a convention. A rep is picking up my flight and hotel. He just said he thinks we are going to stay at Sahara.
You should be honored. It’s a classic.
The SLS Las Vegas was recently rebranded The Sahara. It’s a nice property. Not a great location though.
How is Vegas on the 4th of July? Since it's on a Saturday this year, thinking of making it a weekend. I know it'll be hotter than shit but thinking that would make for a deep talent pool at the pools.
Not Vegas but got upgraded to a suite at the Hard Rock Tampa
Yea, the location is really my concern.
Any deals for that weekend? I assume not. I booked Caesars at the end of the year but I'm open to anywhere on the Strip. What hotels usually have the best activities that weekend?
Was there last week, Monday and Tuesday were cold as balls.
It’s going to be at least 110 all day every day. Pool, day club, etc should be pretty lit. Rooftop at night for 360 fireworks is kind of cool. Honestly I don’t think it will be much different outside of some extra crowds.
Will be perfect pussy grabbin' weather then.
Heading to Vegas tomorrow!
Check out these links:
Exodus Festival: 10 parties, 20 DJs:
Listing of some events on 7/4/2019. I expect the 2020 listing will be about the same:
NYNY or park mgm? Both the same price
Park MGM imo
What ShuPoor said.
The only negative about Park was no mini fridge
Linq is booked and I’m upset
I’m going to go NYNY just because I like that it still has its kitsch.
You should stay at Excalibur to save money
we still stay there every year for our march madness softball tourney :(
it’s free and i only use it for the shower and minimal sleep so i can’t be mad, but damn it’s feels sad to say
It's probably better than Circus Circus
they should put that on a sign
Done it. About 2 years ago. Not as bad as you’d think.
I'm thinking it is really bad, so I guess it is bad.
call Linq through Caesars reservations, they can sometimes find availability vs searching online
Any opinion on saving a lot of money and staying at westgate? $83 a night
What night of the week and what are you out there for?
I'm out there for work in May and staying there and it's fine.
If you can get that room on Thursday of March Madness book it right fucking now
So, I think the wife and I have decided on Vegas for our 10yr anniversary this August. My wife didn't want to travel international and neither of us has ever been to Vegas, so Vegas it is. I'm looking for any help/recommendations because I don't even know where to start. We'd be flying in Weds night and flying home Sunday. It'll be hot as shit, so a bad ass pool is a must. I was thinking about doing some kind of desert excursion one day, taking in a show or two, and eating incredible food. I looked around this thread, but didn't see a list of "must go" restaurants. Nice timing because it'll be week zero of the college football season.
Thanks in advance
First week of March madness. We’d 18-21st
There are several fairly extensive posts about Vegas restaurants in this thread.
I'll continue to read through the thread, but figured I'd throw a post out there.
Follow the link. All of the listed restaurants have been recommended multiple times in the thread. Where are you thinking of staying? I’ll see what else I can find. Also, all of the restaurants at Aria and Park MGM are excellent.
edit: that title is incorrect. There are actually 11 listed restaurants.
Not bad. But you'll get cabin fever by Friday afternoon at the latest.
Staying there Wednesday is ideal, Thursday is fine too. After that you'll want a property with more action.
Westgate has a very large Sportsbook and they usually have something set up for March Madness that you need to pay to attend. But, that’s about it for Westgate. It doesn’t have good dining. It’s actually quite a walk to the Strip. No other properties worth mentioning are nearby.
No idea where to stay. Nice hotel with nice rooms, casino, spa, bad ass pool with cabanas and staff that will bring drinks.
Just booked an apartment at MGM signature suites. 3 nights, $653 after everything. No resort fees. Also has a balcony
My friend, who goes a lot, told us to stay at the Wynn, so that’s where we’re leaning currently.
That’s a good choice - it’s a bit of a hike to, say Aria, but it’s a great property.
Food preferences? I’ll plug Bouchon and L’Atelier to anyone who is listening.
Have stayed there multiple times. It's quite a hike to get from them to the MGM casino and can be even further if you're in the third tower. Easy access to the monorail though. Good property overall
Where’s the monorail take you
It goes all the way down to SLS/Sahara. We've taken it to there to get to the Stratosphere. It's not the free one though like across the street
I assume this is what he was talking about. I think its like 13 bucks a day for unlimited rides, but you can get multiple days for a little cheaper "per day"
Lots of high end call girls live there too.
That’s a very good choice. The Wynn/Encore Food & Beverage program is excellent. Pools & Spas are too. Across the street is The Palazzo/Venetian complex which is also excellent. Across LVB is a huge indoor shopping mall if y’all want to shop during the trip.
I think the link lists some in that part of the strip.
devine and anyone else who cares - I’d almost always take the strip property for the same price as off-strip, even if the rooms aren’t quite as nice. I’m generally a proponent of spending extra for a place to kick back rather than not wanting to be in the room at all, but I weigh the location factor more heavily when we’re talking off strip vs on.
For example I’d take Excalibur at 83 over Westgate. I would not take it at say 130+, probably.
I did a lot of looking around, this late in the game there was not much on the strip available. Linq, Park, NYNY, were all going to be about $1k for 3 nights. I saved almost $400. That seems worth it to me
