I was in Walmart with my wife the other day when a tornado warning was issued. There was a confirmed tornado on the ground a few miles away heading directly our way. My brother called because he was on duty (cop) and asked where we were. The store called a code black and had all the customers and employees get in the center of the store. My bro told me to gtfo of there. Ran outside and it started hailing right as I got to my truck, and quickly drove home. When listening to the radio on the way home, the storm chasers following the storm were right behind us following the storm. Pretty crazy experience.
been a pretty active season so far and it hasn't even gotten hot enough to really produce in most of the midwestern states which is of course where they are biggest and baddest exciting stuff
yes but ive never seen the map where you can click on each chaser and watch their live stream. been bouncing around the midwest watching different storms.
I could probably get Reed to post here at some point during the off season. He's about as big of a nerd as you would imagine, but I graduated high school in the same class with him and see him around every so often.
Wow what a night never seen so many warnings. My brother lives in Vilonia Arkansas and he said its really bad. Most likely gonna be deaths.
apparently a firetruck got blown off the highway somewhere in arkansas. this is our second round of tornadoes today and like 4th the last week. shit's getting old

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Arkansas-Severe-Weather-Watchers/202915003053670 These folks are posting various photos of tornadoes and flooding from today in Arkansas
watkinstrack? The #Vilonia AR tornado does NOT to be as bad as being reported. Yes, there was damage, but the town has not been "wiped out" like reported. Twitter - seconds ago maybe some hope?
"I just received this message from a friend in Vilonia: WOW just drove down HWY 64 in Vilonia!!!! Total destruction!!!! We wont have power for a week if we are LUCKY!!!! this is MASSIVE destruction!!!!--Luke" Just posted on the fb page above so
ive got a few texts from my brother in Vilonia and he said that its bad but the school did survive so it wasnt total destruction.Hes a Football coach so he went to the fieldhouse and he said that the entire town is in complete darkness and its so quiet its like some horror movie.
According to GMA (not sure on their creditability on storm damage)......Damage path in Vilonia, Ark is 3 miles wide and 15 miles long. 4 Confirmed deaths.
Yeap looks like South Ark is gonna get pounded this time. I hope my house down there doesn't get destroyed.
they just updated the high risk to cover central arkansas also.We dont see many High Risk storm events so this could be a crazy night.
Yeah after living 21 of my 32+ years in South Arkansas, I never saw a single tornado in the specific area where I was living. They all seemed to go north of us along I-30 up to LR and above. This shit is crazy though. I'm watching the fb group that is putting out info and posting pictures from around the state and some of that is just unbelievable.
I've only seen one in person. Pretty intense moment. Was chilling on base in the dorms and the sirens went off, we watched the news and it said "coming by tinker right now". So what did we all do? Run outside to look at it.
Just talked to my family in Vilonia and he said that parts of the city look like a bomb went off.Its soo bad he cant even leave town so they are stuck there without power. He said its gonna be a small miracle to get power going because soo many Power lines are destroyed.
I dont know if all news stations do this, but here in Arkansas, they put up the state map with all towns that will be effected by storms. Well you get to see a lot of small towns you never here of. One caught my eye, it was Negro Head Corner, Arkansas. Just thought I would share.
Probably has been posted in this thread already but here is an interactive map that tracks the chasers through GPS. The best part it connects you with streaming video from the chasers http://chase.tornadovideos.net/pages/full_screen
Here's a picture I took of a tornado as it touched down on the western edge of Lawrence, KS. It was early May 2003. Luckily, it lifted up just as it neared the KU campus (I took this photo from my dorm window): Man, cell phone cameras really sucked back then.
Brett and Eric's Stream is currently showing a wedge tornado in Arkansas outside of Dumas and Star City
btw, appears that ths has finally angered God to the point where He is willing to take out an entire state just to get rid of him
