Someone posted a few days ago that they’d heard that Russian cyber attacks would be ramped up on US businesses and they were 100% correct
Friends mother lives on the water in Corpus Christi. Asked if we could moor the boat to her house. Awaiting a response.
Random phishing emails have gone up, attempts to DDOS, stuff that infosec people deal with daily but at a much higher rate
I understand why people are calling the USA hypocritical and saying that we have taken actions similar to Russia over the past 20-30 years but I think it’s worth noting we have a leadership change every 4 or 8 years, while we all know American politicians suck, there is no doubt that the Clinton admin, was not the Bush admin, was not the Obama admin, was not the Trump admin, was not the Biden admin. A large portion of us couldn’t even vote when our wars started Conversely Putin has been in power and leading these aggressive decisions for all of these Eastern Europeans conflicts. We also didn’t invade our neighbors and argued our case in front of the world. We like any other country are capable of electing bad leaders and showing our ass on the world stage but it’s just not the same thing as a what Russia has been doing
Edit: Appears when this happened is unconfirmed. May have been 2/27. Rumor it was scuttled by the Ukrainians.
The US also at least went to the UN explaining what they were wanting to do and asking for a coalition, flimsy though that may be. (Edit: just saw you mentioned that) Russia has truly acted in a completely unilateral fashion unseen since the end of WWII. In any case, it’s a classic example of what-aboutism that shouldn’t excuse what is happening now.
roughly 6.7 million barrels on the boat. at a $40 discount that's roughly $402 million plus the cost of the boat. I'm in for $350
Iraq was every bit as bad as this. Sorry. Wildly supported by both political parties. We don't get a pass. It might not have increased tension to where we were close to a world war, but it was naked aggression that killed many many innocent human beings under false pretense.
Former hannity guy. The whole article is a mindfuck and really makes me worry about what the US is going to look like in a decade with the proliferation of RWNJs https://www.salon.com/2018/04/19/a-...kremlin-propaganda-network-in-russia_partner/
In florida and I think Oklahoma you're literally allowed to murder protestors with your car if they're in the road
Yeah and like I said I couldn’t even vote when it happened and we’ve had 3 leadership changes since then It’s dumb to throw all nuance out the window It’s quite frankly not the same as much as anyone wants it to be
Me either but I would guess it has to do with European dependency on their oil and the time it will take to move away from it
I wonder if it implies that they don't think the sanctions will last more than a few months allowing time for the economy to offset some of the losses
I'm not throwing nuance out the window, I'm just saying it doesn't take much to get the US all ginned up and eager to go invade someone. Do you really think the US population is any less racist and bloodthirsty now than it was 20 years ago? Let me tell you, since I very much was old enough to vote in 2003, it's not. Anyway, I'm not trying to pollute this thread up with my takes, but I'd be happy to go discuss this in another thread if you'd like. It just bothers me when I read "the US would never do..." ummm, yeah, we fucking would.
Yeah but they shouldn't have been standing there protesting when I was trying to get to Bo's Ice Cream before they close. What am I going to do? Not murder someone to get to that delicious frozen treat.
I feel certain that the Russians are going to send in military supplies through the safe humanitarian zones.
