So I am out of town today but will try and get one in this week. I normally ride outside for 25 miles a few times a week but it’s chilly and I am a bitch ass puss when riding in the cold (chilly). For some reason it won’t let me connect my Strava until I get my free account time period over. Yea I am a cheap ass as well and two free weeks was too easy not to pass up.
I wear running tights while riding. The first couple days my taint was in a bad way but then I added a pair of regular shorts over the tights and I haven’t had any issues since.
Bought one for Christmas cause my wife wanted one. I’ve used it about 6 times so far and love it. My only issue: the bike seat hurts my ass. I understand the jokes that may be coming, but riding a couple days in a row: the bike seat hurting my ass is worse than the 30 min ride.
+1 on the padded shorts. Ride every 2 or 3 days and slowly wean yourself off and you won't need them anymore.
It is counterintuitive but small saddles without much padding and proper chamois are the best solution. Also extremely key, getting measured for the proper width saddle as you need to be applying pressure/supporting yourself from the proper spot on your bumm. I know, not an ideal solution after spending that much $$ on a bike but getting the proper fit is the best solution.
1. It takes some getting used to. 2. Having too wide or narrow of a saddle and/or too much cushion on the saddle means you are never or rarely going to be applying pressure at the proper spot.
And I would give it 2-4 weeks of riding before I went out and got a new saddle. Chances are you just need some getting used to. Exceptions: pain as opposed to discomfort or numbness in your legs.
What's the deal with how light the weights are? I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the bike and trying to figure out if it is makes sense for a guy of average strength to also buy the 3 lbs weights.
You’ll likely need heavier weights. I got the 3# weights for my wife, using the promo/referral code. I didn’t really need anything other than cleats & bike pad though
I never feel like I'm set up the right way on the bike. Like it never feels like my seat height or depth from the handlebars is correct compared to on screen. plus my quads, mainly my left one, seem to always find a way to tighten up too soon. Is there a better explanation for how the seat should be set up on the bike?
I use 10 pound weight which are nothing but they get heavy the way they are used. It’s also a weird thing to lift (no matter how light) while riding. I think 5-10 pound weights are plenty to use while riding. FWIW you can get cheaper to get them at target or some such place
I got a gel seat cover when I bought the bike. After the first 4 days of riding consecutively, no more pain. Just using gym shorts.
Glad you’re feeling better. Riding help me get over the flu at the beginning of the month. Might do a slow and easy 30 min to help sweat this booze out of my system.
It was 50+ Miles. Today was humbling for me. I’m fucking dead after 45 minute, post AFC Championship ride.
Stick to it, your legs (and heart and lungs) will respond with consistency. You just put in 20 miles on your first day riding in how long? Nothing to be ashamed of, regardless of how beat you feel right now.
I have muscle memory going for me... it’s just been awhile. I’ve missed cycling. Based on my 1st day back in the saddle, I’ll easily be able hit 100 Miles/week. The classes will keep everything fresh.
Is it legal to go to Asian massage parlors for a taint massage without risking getting caught up in police sting operations related to happy ending massages? I feel like a recent Peloton receipt should be a legal alibi in this case.
I’m breaking in new shoes & made rookie mistake of tightening too tight. Killed the middle 10-15 on my ride.
Our office building just put a Peloton in the gym. Was going to go in early tomorrow to give it a shot. Anything I need to plan for? Hoping the thing already has cleats on it.
