Simple enough, what do you consider to perfect/near perfect (because perfection should be hard to attain) albums.

Are you staring a "perfect albums" thread with "father john misty" as an example of what isn't a perfect album?

    Yes. :crossedarms:

It's subjective. This isn't about greatest albums of all time. This is about albums that work perfectly together. NOT "Best albums of all time." I'll give some other examples:

Definitely would agree on Sgt. Pepper's.

Expected to see Radiohead early and often. Not my personal favorites, but hard to argue that they aren't very well put together albums.

Edit to add: I'm confusing influential with what the OP asked. I don't care. These are albums I'd put on my iPod if I were ever on a The Book of Eli type apocalyptic journey.

    Sleep-Dopesmoker

It's one song...really long song. It's not everyone but it's for me.

Lana Del Ray is far from a favorite but her "Born to Die" is a cohesive story.
    Kendrick Lamar same with TPAB
Frank Ocean Blonde...if you turn it on I'm probably not leaving for an hour.
    Isbell's Southeastern is a masterpiece.
Sturgill Simpson hasn't made a song that didn't fit in the storyline of an entire album. They're always tight and he's said he'll quit when they aren't.
Electric Wizards dopethrone defined a genre that begat many sub genres.
Waylons Honky Tonk Heroes set the table for outlaw music. I find it to be great.
    Deftones White Pony
    Weezer Blue
    Green Day Dookie

Love YES, thanks to my dad for some prog rock roots, but I'd be hard pressed to pick a single album for them.

I'm a Ween fanboy, I know that's a generally unpopular stance, but I their country/western album perfectly achieves what they were going for with a parody album.
And beyond that, some of my favorite songs are on the album and I'd say Scrape the Mucus Off My Brain is a quintessential Ween song.

Not really on topic, but I can listen to the Last of the Mohicans and Braveheart soundtracks all of the way through, and not want to skip any of it.

Soundtracks should definitely be it's own thread if it isn't already. Although admittedly I don't generally throw on a soundtrack.
