I’m not much help with Oahu/Maui/Kauai but my Big Island recs are on this page: https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...e-ups-in-the-op.120242/page-326#post-13974711 Sun Dried Specialties has rebranded as Kona Grill House due to some new health regulations that don’t allow for outdoor curing. Same owner and menu and everything, just a different name. Still my favorite reasonable-priced meal on the island.
From work. I get a 5Ge signal at the house too. ATT is running fiber optic by the end of the year and Comcast is gonna be there soon after. The problem is it’s an older neighborhood with a few new houses being built and neither company was prepared to offer service. It’s annoying to say the least. Legitimate 5G will be a blessing.
I have a good way of Jerryrigging a cellular 5GE connection into a whole home Wi-Fi if you’re interested
I’ve just got an unlimited hotspot with my TV etc connected to it now. Is it something different than that?
Beach AM/FM Radio w/ bluetooth Favorite feature is if you put rechargeable batteries in this thing it will charge them by itself when you plug it in.
GoodForAnother Is a lazy admin of our plex server so I wanna have a backup when it crashes and he’s out of town. I want a secure centralized location to store files that’s redundant to some cloud services. I have stuff like wedding and kid pictures/videos that are on flash drives or Dropbox/google drive. Cuz I can
Smart. Cloud services will eventually disappoint many many people. I have been listening to too much Reply All.
Just be careful with trusting cloud storage. The big tech companies are probably safe, but backup your digital media on a local drive if you're serious about holding on to it and having access to it. The episode was about a cloud storage site that went down because they couldn't pay the rent and a bunch of people got screwed.
I need some AEs resoled... Anyone ever take them to a local cobbler vs paying $125 to get them redone?? Trying to figure out of saving $50 a shoe is worth it, plus faster service is worth it vs sending them back
Yes, I think my local cobbler even put on vibram soles and it was ~$50. I’ve sent to AE before and I didn’t think they did a great job.
I have had a cole haan pair redone about 3 years ago. Maybe $40-60 otoh and added years to my shoe. My dad has a rotation of 30-40 year old shoes from nice London shoe makers in that he bought years ago, all maintained/refurbed by local shoe repair man aka cobblers.
I am in need of some kind of recliner chair for my living room. Not looking to spend a fortune, just something that is going to be very comfortable to watch football in for a couple years. Anyone had any success on wayfair or another site like that?
Wayfair sells exactly what you think...but they send you eleventy billion emails a day after you buy something from them. Got both my son's first beds there and they worked great....just remember to unsubscribe IMMEDIATELY after purchasing.
https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/andover-mills-kai-manual-recliner-w001476066.html It's got a lot of good reviews
I actually live about 10mins from the Wayfair Outlet, so I may go check it out. Basically they sell returned items or closeout items, usually a zoo when I've driven by though.
if I hadn't got the insane pixel 3xl deal this was going to be my next phone best phone out there right now
The Pixel 3XL was going to be what I got until I did some research and discovered the OnePlus 7 Pro. What deal are you referring to with the Pixel 3XL btw? The discounted price on Amazon?
was a deal where you got the price of the phone in delta gift cards (think you could select airline iirc) so phone was basically free if you could use the gift cards, for a brand new phone it was nuts
Yes. By all accounts/reviews, it's supposed to be incredible. https://www.digitaltrends.com/cell-phone-reviews/oneplus-7-pro-review/ AMOLED display with 90 Hz refresh rate. 4000 mAh battery with "Warp" charging which means that it'll charge the battery from 0% to 50% in around 30 mins and full charge from 0% in an hour. Snapdragon 855 processor Camera's are supposed to be great but I personally am not into all that so whatever any new phone has is good enough for me. I got the 12GB RAM/256GB internal storage version for $749. Those are better overall internals than any phone out right now or at least on par with the Galaxy 10+ but that costs over $1,000.
Looks like a really good phone. Doesn't have a sd card slot, headphone jack, or wireless charging which is a bit of a deal breaker.
I've never had a need for an sd card. Headphone jack, I hear ya...although I'm fine with bluetooth headphones personally. You can use the USB-C port for wired headphones if you want. Wireless charging is a bit of a headscratcher but with as fast as it charges with their "warp" charging, I'm fine with it.
What is OnePlus' history with OS updates? Both in terms of how quickly they issue them (not just security updates, but actual new version of the OS) and how long they support their phones?
