Does anyone remember a trailer for a maybe horror movie where the guy becomes friends with his neighbor and then they neighborhood dads are like a culty group? Feel like it was a couple big names. Maybe it was real, maybe it was like an snl skit or something? It had a very green color palate. Thought it was fairly recent, like the past couple years.
It was in a basketball arena but the crowd was insane. I don't think they had toured in awhile and I'm like 15 with my buddy amongst this totally intoxicated audience. There were like 40something year old women pulling up their shirts between Godsmack and Metallica responding to "show your tits" chants. I'm not sure how I would respond today but at the time I was like wtf did we get ourselves into Then my mom picked us up after
James stepped into pyrotechnics one time in the early 90s and it burned his arm. Idk why I posted this but here you go
I have heard this. I loved Metallica so anything I could read or watch about them, I did. I had the Live Shit boxset which featured their skull and crossbones logo stencil. I spraypainted it onto my school binders
what I specifically remember is a buddy who now works at Homeland asked her if she wanted to go a party the next night and she graciously declined because she had a show in Mt. Pleasant.
was perusing amazon prime the other night and saw the academy of country music awards and backstreet boys was doing a duet of life is a highway with rascal flatts and it felt like a fever dream
I think a sports bar that specialized in hangover food would crush. Imagine a menu with Menudo, Drunken Noodles, torta ahogada, poutine, chilaquiles, fry up, Korean hangover soup, etc. We could also have all kinds of hydrating cocktails implementing gatorade and coconut water and then a full range of Bloody Mary’s and micheladas. It could be called “Hair of the Dog.”
Every day has a Sunday brunch. We’ll put them in college towns and tourist areas. Maybe a quiet/dark section option. We’ll have some boozy and THC infused smoothies named for famous drunks and potheads, respectively.
First big concert I went to was the Summer Sanitarium in 2000 at the LA Coliseum. Metallica, Korn, Kid Rock, Powerman 5000, and System of Down. Saw an insane amount of boobs which was awesome, especially as a 14 year old. My buddy's dad that took us years later said that he knew it was going to be quite an event when a guy in the truck ahead of us while parking popped up out of the bed with a shirt that said "Fuck you, you fucking fuck"
I saw a lot of concerts before I turned 18. It wasn’t my first, but I saw Metallica as the semi-opener on a stadium tour with Van Halen right before they released Justice for All. The lineup was Kingdom Come, then Metallica, Dokken, Scorpions and Van Halen. One of these things is not like the others. I went with a buddy from high school, and my aunt’s boyfriend and two of his friends, who were laughably into the Scorpions and Van Halen part of this, but had no idea who Metallica was because they had zero radio or MTV play back then.
I like Scorpions. James Hetfield hated Bon Jovi though for some reason. There's a clip of him being like "if you're looking for living on a prayer, this ain't that fuckin band" And then they played something like Hit the Lights
There was a clear coolness line that was drawn by 1988 dividing fans who were into bands that still wore spandex and those who moved on. The Scorpions stayed behind the line. Metallica was jeans and a t-shirt from an obscure band that had been around for a while but no one knew, like The Misfits or Sam Hain.
The band Wild Cherry (Play that Funky Music White Boy) reunited and played my junior prom. The keyboard player’s son was a grade below me.
Until they really made it big, they were kind of dirty in the way Guns n Roses was around Appetite for Destruction Like this recording, which I don't know how it survived
My daughter got her car towed by the Cincinnati police, so I made a pleasant trip downtown at 11:00 PM.
Bob Seger is the goat and I won’t be told different. Got to see him in charlotte during his final tour. Amazing experience. Grand Funk Railroad opened for him. Also great.
Is Dutch bros good? They just opened one in my neighborhood and there are cops directing traffic because of how chaotic it is
