Just an incredible season finale. It's so amazingly fitting that Tommen died jumping out of a window given that basically everything that has happened in the show so far is the result of Jaime pushing Bran out of one.
E9 and E10 have to be the strongest one-two punch in the series so far. Seeing Jon born/crowned and Dany crossing the Narrow Sea relieved some blue balls that I've carried for five years. Music was amazing; it was like a twenty minute crescendo to the explosion. Just a great fucking episode.
The pacing, cinematography, emotion, are all within a director's control. I argue that any particular scene in the past two episodes is by far greater than arya and the waif's shit. This is the guy who also did Hardhome, he knows how to make GoT shine.
Like just the brief scene of Tommen's suicide was amazing. Focus on the window, you hear Tommen walk over, set down the crown, comes back into frame, and jumps. Staying true to character rather than Arya's cocky walk all through Braavos.
I'm not sure if this is an angry television people post or not.... But wasn't the castle/where everyone who is royalty stays completely destroyed by the wild fire? If so...where is the Iron Throne? Is it not where the wild fire blew everything up?
That was the Sept of Baelor. The Red Keep is where the throne is. Cersei had her walk of atonement from the Sept to the Red Keep.
Aight cool. I was kinda confused from the view point. I thought the castle that she was looking at was Kings Landing and they were out in the burbs. So is there more wild fire under the entire city? Wasn't that the mad kings plan, to burn all of KL?
Country - I don't think so. The rest of King's Landing? Probably. The Mad King's plan was to raze the entire city rather than be captured.
He did, which is why I'm also slightly confused way Cersie didn't know there was wild fire everywhere.
My guess is that season 7 is the battle for king's landing and season 8 is the battle against the night's king
Would have liked to see him take a sword go to get vengeance against his mother only to get got by Zombie Mountain, but that's just me nitpicking the episode was perfect.
She might have known that there was wild fire everywhere but she may not have known if there was any (or any left) under Baylor's Sept. I believe when Tyrion got the wild fire before The Battle of Black Water Bay it is mentioned that the wild fire was being stored for Cersei, Tyrion then commandeered it for the battle.
There's only one season left. I'm pretty sure there's only like 7-8 episodes left total. Next season is the last season and won't be a full 10 episode one. Edit: I'm wrong. There's a 7&8, just shorter season. I think you're right and the ww make their was south of the wall come season 7 and season 8 will be the rest of the kingdom trying to fight them.
Yeah there's 8 seasons, and 13 episodes left. Guessing Season 7 will have 7 and 8 will have 6 episodes, but hopefully we get some long ones in there.
Oh God. I missed that post. That was a perfect score for that scene and probably the best opening of an episode that I can think of
I want what is coming to Cersei, but the scene where she passed off Unella to Sir Gregor while she kept saying "shame" over and over was very fitting.
She's got quite a bit of work. In theory, she can possibly run into 4 of those characters out in the lands during her travels. Illyn Payne hasn't been mentioned in a long time, and Cersei & the Mountain, well she may not even get to them.
The scene with Cersei and High Sparrrow's nun/whatever, and then the Mountain was...holy fuck. "He is your God now. Shame...Shame...Shame"
payoff for that tower of joy tease earlier in the season when they cut away before showing young ned going up into the tower. i may be wrong here, but don't believe the books mention her having given birth, just a lot of blood and she was laying there dying
I didn't read the books, but I'm pretty sure you're right considering R+L=J wasn't confirmed until last night...
As far as the show goes Ilyn Payne isn't Illyn is done on the show. The actor has cancer and they said they won't recast him so they basically just took him off the show.
Nothing is confirmed yet. The 13 episodes thing was from an interview in Variety, which also said that it wasn't confirmed.
I get that he looked pissed in the scene and everything but he will literally have nothing left in the world except Bronn and a hope that Tyrone is still alive somewhere, if he kills Cersei. It makes absolutely no sense to me and he has nothing to gain from it. Is he even in position to take the throne if she dies? The guy isn't exactly an irrational and spontaneous person in the show. IMO he'd be able to think through the whole killing Cersei thing and realize hey I can kill her but then I'll just have to live out my life all alone with one hand and no family. And all this after what 2 episodes ago he said more than once that the only thing he cares about in life is Cersei. So yea.... not buying that he kills her. It makes very little sense unless he plans on the Lannisters giving up on being a house and all joining someone else.
