This season has been pretty boring. They kind of recycle outside characters just with different actors. Lip has rich assholes that he can scheme or manipulate. Fiona fell ass backwards into someone who's going to help her out. Ian has some new saintlike influence... Still entertaining, just formulaic.
Don't hate it but there's just been no progress in this show. Carl is the only character who has really changed.
I'm actually wondering if Kevin is going to be left behind now that he legally has no authorities over the kids. Aka his wives just bounce with the Russian dude. Something is definitely happening there though.
I just dont see it. V and Kev are fiercely loyal to each other. I just haven't seen enough for V to fuck him over without it feeling unearned in the show.
But isnt that the point of the show. The more things change the more they stay the same. they're trying to break out of the Gallager mold, but the more they fight it the more they become it. Does it make for good TV? id leave that question up to you. I still like the show. Its better than most shows on their 7th season.
It's funny how the purposeful fuckups on this show are actually either making something of themselves of trying to (Ian, Carl, and Lip) while the one who's always tried her hardest to garner any kind of success is the biggest fuck up of the family (Fiona) I say Carl graduates military school; Lip ends up in a dead end job; Ian either relapses or stays good as a EMT, could go either way; Fiona loses the house and the series fades to black with her shooting up in the house with everyone gone and the house dark.
Liam coming out of the house in the private school uniform and talking to Frank definitely gave me the warm and fuzzies. Of all the hot whores Lip has fucked, this ugly moonface chick is the one he's going to settle down with.
Was happy that Fiona was going to quit the laundromat. Disappointed she's gonna keep doing it. Mainly because it's awful and not good. Things will probably change for the (somewhat) positive but wish she wasn't doing that.
Was probably the saddest I've been watching the show since the one with their mom slitting her wrists in the kitchen. And you saw it coming the second the professor and Ian had to go as he waited for the verdict.
6am interview is childish but how many times is this show going to have him fuck up? annoying at this point & Debbie is just the worst.
The future of Showtime’s long-running series “Shameless” is being held up, due to ongoing negotiations with star Emmy Rossum. Rossum, who’s been a lead on “Shameless” since it debuted in 2011, is in the midst of re-negotiating her contract for a potential eighth season. Sources close to the show tell Variety that months ago, the actress was offered pay parity with her co-star William H. Macy — but she is asking to be paid more. An insider says Showtime wants to renew the show for Season 8, but won’t proceed until resolving Rossum’s salary. The creative forces behind the dramedy have not even considered a plan for the show to continue without her, our source explains, as all parties involved are hopeful to close negotiations with the actress. Rossum is demanding equal pay with Macy, after seven seasons of being paid less than him, according to a report published earlier today by the Hollywood Reporter. A source tells Variety she has in fact been offered equal pay. But she is holding out for a bigger salary than Macy to make up for the previous seasons where she was making significantly less than him. Both Showtime and Warner Bros. TV, the studio behind “Shameless,” declined to comment. Reps for Rossum didn’t immediately respond to Variety‘s calls. A source close to “Shameless” tells Variety that the network and studio take the income disparity very seriously, but insist that the offer for parity has been on the table for a while and is not being accepted by Rossum’s team. By offering her the same salary as Macy, this person says the network and studio are “clearly acknowledging her importance to the show” and how her role has evolved into a crucial part over the years. “It hasn’t even been contemplated doing the show without her,” adds the source. Rossum’s salary dispute comes at a time when equal pay has become a prominent conversation in the industry, led by actresses like Patricia Arquette and Jennifer Lawrence. At the time “Shameless” premiered, Macy, 66, was arguably more well-known than Rossum, 30. Though the actress was coming off of films like “The Day After Tomorrow” and “Phantom of the Opera” for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe, Macy had already won multiple Emmys, plus had an Oscar nomination, Golden Globe and SAG nominations. For his work on “Shameless,” Macy has been nominated for three Emmys, a Golden Globe, and won a SAG Award. Rossum has been nominated for two Critics Choice Awards, but never an Emmy, SAG Award or Golden Globe. Awards recognition typically helps actors to negotiate a pay raise. Rossum has renegotiated her salary since “Shameless” debuted. An insider says she got a significant increase from her original deal several seasons ago, as did Macy. Macy recently closed a new deal for the potential eighth season — the same deal that is now being offered to Rossum.
i wouldn't mind if the show ended but I also want to see how Carl turns out, lip bounce back, and Ian not die with mickey so sign the goddamn contract emmy.
I dont think she's a cunt for wanting equal pay as the lead on the show. Also woundn't mind if it ended. It's had a good run but getting stale. Which leads me to - Would be way more impactful if Lip OD'd after getting his coffee spiked. None of the viewers of this show GAF about Monica dying.
She's getting equal pay. She wants more now to make up for getting less than Macy at the beginning when she wasn't as famous. This season has been pretty bad though. It's clearly running out of steam.
That was probably my favorite ep of the season. Honestly, when Fiona walked downstairs I thought Edna would be dead. Was kinda surprised they went the other way. Kevin was great throughout. Now looking forward to the finale.
maybe it's because i binged this season and didn't do it week to week but i thought it was a great season not the best, but i don't think it was bad by any measure
