Some host chick on espn radio doesn’t understand the concept of a furnace to heat your house that’s not in the South. Thinks her AC unit is all you need. Amber something.
A friend in college kept getting mad at her roommate for turning the AC/heat off. After being gone a weekend she got back and the apartment was 100 degrees. Roommate says AC is broken, friend looks at the thermostat and it’s at 90 degrees. Friend asks why is it set so high, “you set that number at what the temperature is outside.”
Reminds me of a call I had today. Customer said the gas company called him and said he is using an excessive amount of gas and if he wanted them to check it out. He said yes. They get there and tell him the cause is the pool heater and that they could shut off the valve to just the heater. He calls and says his heater has a gas leak. I arrive to his house and walk in the backyard and see steam coming off of his pool. The pool is 70° and the heater is cycling on and off and trying to run but no gas. For reference, pools in Dallas are about 34-37° right now due to the recent cold fronts. I call the customer and said you don’t have a leak, you have your pool heater on, it is a 400k btu unit and yes, it has been using an excessive amount of gas to keep your pool heated. He thought it was normal to keep it heated year round, even if not swimming in it.
God I need to know what the bill was. When we had a pool, I told my wife that the heater didn't work to prevent any whoopsies
Do people there heat the whole pool with electric? We have both, gas for hot tub and electric for pool. Electric is much slower but way less expensive. Obviously not running it now, just use it for those spring and fall months where it's 82 during the day but 60 at night and the water is like 72 so use it to keep it mid 80s. Doesn't cost much with electric, can only imagine what he paid with gas. Plus he's having to add water daily lol.
I’d imagine some light taps and most would fall off. I’d prolly autostart my car first and see what that does.
The car at :09 looks like it might need more than some light taps. Didn't think about autostart not not every car has that.
Tree down. Tree at ER. Tree was unconscious for about 3 mins. Winter sucks. I'm probably ok though. They say I'm in better shape than Luka
Hope you are alright dude On another note the South is in the middle of fake spring. The magical time every year where during late winter it’s in the 70s for a week and all the plants wake up and then you have to cover them up in bed sheets two weeks later bc winter comes roaring back
Some deep freeze weather coming for a lot of the country again back half of February. Some snow shots likely from Ohio valley - northeast.
where are you seeing this? I’ve seen the New England snow projections, but no big time freezes outside of there
I was unaware too so I did some googling, and it’s not great. Sounds like he is a skeptic of anthropogenic climate change. He thinks that the climate is changing and becoming more dangerous but that it’s likely natural as it has been doing forever. He agrees that too much CO2 is bad for the planet, but he doesn’t believe that the threat currently rises to or will rise to an extinction level event within 15 years like models predict. His biggest issue from what I’ve read is that he thinks he’s the enlightened one because he gets flak from both the “extreme left” and the “extreme right” for his position. That kind of thinking does suck. All of that said, there may not be a single better meteorologist at their day job than he is. He literally saves lives in Alabama and has for decades.
So it looks like we are gonna have storms about every 2-3 days for the next couple weeks from northern plains to the northeast. Lots of snow coming.
Chicago gonna get smacked. Western Delaware to the shore looks like the sweet spot for next storm (6-8”)
