might be a weird place to post this question... but me and a couple friends want to take our kids to see the launch tomorrow. I know a lot of official places are closed due to the virus but does anyone know where we could watch from? Current plan is to check the weather at 1130 and leave from Ft Myers if it looks like the launch is a go.
Streams have started
Apparently Tom Cruise is going to the ISS for a movie
I hope you're all standing right now
Tornado warnings just issued for brevard county. That doesn’t bode well for a launch
Those suits look sexyyyy
Thanks discovery channel, I was just wondering what Katy Perry’s take on today’s launch was
i didn't know Elon started SpaceX in 2002.
Launches are such an exciting thing for me.
Add in some astronauts launching from US soil and it has me like
Will any network show this live or we streaming only? My 5 year old is beyond excited about this.
it's on Discovery and Science Channel
Would think ABC/NBC/CBS should air this. Could be a huge moment in our history.
Weather not looking good...
What if they load it with fuel then have to postpone? Do they then have to empty the rocket, then refuel Saturday?
Going to find out if this is going to happen in the next 10 min because of the fuel window
Looking at sky waiting ..
Phase 2 RP1 load complete
Sounds like they are going to scrub, waiting another 2 min to see if weather clears before final decision
What a cock tease.
Why can't they launch later than T0?
Instantaneous window. They go at that time or they dont go at all
Google tells me it's because they need to be synced with the connection to the space station.
According to the forecast, it actually looks worse weather wise on Saturday unfortunately
Yep, they’re firing one bullet trying to hit another moving bullet. Even only a couple minutes late means the space station is going to be hundreds of miles away from where the capsule will end up
Elon needs to solve the weather smh what a cuck
I’m sure he is probably trying to do that too
What was up with that weather officer floating the possibility of postponing T0 and confusing the astronauts? Was he just making a joke over comms?
Has to be pretty disheartening to the astronauts to get 17 minutes from launch, for it to be scrubbed. One plus side is they get a few more days with their family, but then they have to go through the goodbyes again.
Also wonder if astronauts second guess themselves once there's a scrubbing. Like it's not meant to be, maybe I shouldn't do this...
Will definitely set an alarm to watch this again on Saturday.
He was basically saying that if they had an extra 10 minutes in the launch window that the weather would clear up.
Yeah, he was trying to make a joke
Hope Sat gets scrubbed. I have to go to Georgia and don't want to miss this.
Just seems like the kind of extraneous information you’d be trained to not put out over comms to avoid confusion.
I don't think anybody who remembers Challenger will ever second-guess a launch scrub
