Yeah we’ve been buying shrouded cable since that’s what’s on shelves right now and it’s not really my favorite
Ya that's the latest set. It's not terrible but it's not one of the top couple sets from Scarlet and Violet era. There's going to be some reprints coming for previous sets like Paldea Evolved and Twilight Masquerade. Those are the two most people like. I buy lots off of ebay but make sure it's ETB's, sleeved booster packs or collection boxes. I rarely pay more than $4 a pack.
the oversized Downtowns selling for hundreds of dollars is the dumbest thing the hobby has done in a minute
I have a feeling lots of people are gonna lose money on these via buying all the Costco packs and being unable to flip/sell
From a Merlin blaster. Not some crazy value but I've never gotten an auto and such a low #d card from a blaster like this and probably won't ever again
you subbing these, or buying the slabs? ETA: I've got a raw red cracked ice i'll give you, if you're subbing.
Sometimes I don't understand people. Sold a card via auction on ebay and the buyer reached out on IG to work an offline deal. It's common courtesy to split the fees and meet in the middle of what the sale price was and what the seller would net after fees. Card sold for $1075 (I would net around $950 on ebay) Me: How does an even $1k sound? Him: I was thinking $975 Me: That is saving you $100 and me only $25. I think $1k is more fair - and actually you're getting the better side. Him: I'll do $975. It's too bad you won't work with me and you'll take less going to through ebay, but ok, that's your call I'm a stubborn and petty person so I will sacrifice that $25 if it means he has to pay more
Good call on standing your ground. Also you're taking on more risk by doing the deal outside of eBay, this guy seems like a clown.
2024 Bowman Chrome University Football pre orders tomorrow. They added a jumbo hobby option (3 autos, $199). Regular hobby stayed the same with 2 autos @$129. https://www.topps.combowman-university-chrome-football/ Pelican
Checklist anywhere? Two kids in daycare limiting my budget plus my cfb team being completely dog shit means I'll likely invest a lot less than previous years
I haven't looked at the odds but I imagine the jumbo is the same as baseball were your autos are more than likely going to be numbered plus a more numbered parallels. https://www.topps.com/media/pdf/NIL2401-CheckList_24BUCF.pdf
are there usually any special parallels or anything with jumbo? or is the only differences the # of cards per pack, # of packs per box, # of autos and then obv the price? *i shouldn't say "only" because that's kind of a lot
Looking at the odds, you have a better shot at color parallels with the jumbos, if that's something you care about.
I peaked at the checklist. Seems like more packs (hobby) would mean better chances at hits ....but then jumbo has the additional auto. I’m probably confusing myself though.
Yeah 96 cards in each....so wouldn't you want the one that gives you more packs (hobby) since the odds are based on packs?
No. For example, in a hobby a superfractor is 1:18,825 packs (.005%) and in a jumbo it's 1:7,232 (.014%).
This guy is one of the bigger CFB collectors I’m aware of. Sharing in case some of yall are still deciding.
Blasters and Megas have a release date of 11/24 and they usually come out after hobby, so I would think about a week or so before
It’s not card related or memorabilia related but wife received a request for a refund on PayPal from some random woman cause she supposedly sent money to wrong person. This has to be a scam right or is it possibly real.
I’m not sure, I just told her I would look at her PayPal when I get home.the thing throwing me off is the 1.03
That’s what I believe it is, so she should be able to request it back on her end. I just don’t trust anyone on the internet anymore.
Absolutely. I think it's best to wait and you both look at the transaction details before approving the refund.
Cracking the new PSA slabs is hard as shit. Unrelated, anyone wanna buy a Topps Chrome Garnacho Orange Lava Auto? LOOKS CLEAN.
FWIW, there is a scam out there that does this. When you send the money back to them, they can dispute the initial payment to you, meaning you’re out the amount returned. I would advise this person to request a refund via PayPal and let them handle it.
That was my thought as well, you send them money back, and then they turn around and request a refund or cancel their payment. I looked up her address and it’s a real place, not that it makes a difference. I guess I’m just gonna tell her to request a refund since she used goods and services.
