Interesting, I like the ring but agree it looks weird with the space between the stands for now.
I love the design of that stadium, you would never know it only holds 18,500 with the way the upper deck is on top of the field. Much prefer that rather then something like Colorado's field.
That place should be very loud when Phase Four is complete.
I don't know. It looks like it wouldn't be very acoustic.
Mineirao - Belo Horizonte WC 2014 update
Some great aerials here
Bilbao - Nuevo Estadio San Mames
LOL, the original estimate of Zenit's stadium was $210 million and is now projected at $1.4 billion. No surprise because it's been such a slow moving construction process, shady stuff in Russia, who would've thunk?
Marseille - Stade Velodrome
Maracana - getting ready to start the roof
Can't wait til the renovations are finished. Sucks that they have to play games with a quarter of the stadium empty though.
Kazan - WC 2018
Velodrome top looks like a roller coaster, they should make that an attraction. Roller coaster on top of a stadium would be awesome.
We've got a WC stadium pretty much complete! Arena de Gremio in Porto Alegre
looks like an extremely poor man's emirates
but not bad
I was wrong, actually it won't be used for the WC, another stadium in Porto Alegre that's being renovated is.
Hilarious. The only thing they get done is completely unrelated. Will not be surprised when the renovation isn't completed on time.
Russia looks farther along on their stadiums then Brazil
Love me some stadium porn.
The Star Destroyer Stadium in Belo Horizonte is almost complete
Salvador Brazil, WC stadium
Velodrome, roof is going to be incredible
A ton of Frenchies are going to be pissed when they find out their seats are behind giant pillars
It's no wonder marseilles home form hasn't been great recently. I can't imagine having to play with all that stuff around the stands.
There won't be any pillars.
holy fucking shit if it looks remotely close to that
Roma just signed a deal for a new stadium
Pittsburgh River Hounds little 3,500 seat stadium just about built, first is a rendering.
pittsburgh does stadiums so well
Pretty cool little ground. Insane backdrop.
This isn't a stadium under construction, but I was google streetview-ing madrid today and came across atletico madrid's stadium. A freeway runs under the west stand, I've never seen anything like it before:
That's bad ass. I had read about it on wiki and saw a few pics of aerials, but not the street view.
Probably pretty crazy driving under that thing when a goal is scored.
Atletico just has one more year season at that stadium. They're using a small former track and field stadium and turning into a 70,000 seat stadium, won't have a track.
I dunno, but probably not. In Atlanta a building called the Atlanta Financial Center and parking deck, a Marta rail station and Peachtree road are all above Georgia 400 freeway. So I am sure there are others similar, but it is pretty bad ass that the stadium is partly over the freeway.
Still waiting for the New Mestalla to be completed
it's scheduled to open this year. who knows though
I'll wait until a game is played there to believe that.
Lille Stadium in arena mode
So bad ass
nice to see at least one country get their shit together ahead of a major tournament. france
haha, we're gonna be waiting a while. I'll do a stadium update tomorrow night when I have more time.
