Letting Trae be surrounded by shooters is the easiest way to have a top 5 offense. This isn’t fucking hard, I’m excited to see what Quinn cooks up

 

Did I reas correctly that this guy shot 40% from three but took less than 1 per game? Wtf.

 

Business decisions

 

I don’t think Garuba can be considered a shooter. He took a total of ONE shot between 10 feet and the three point line in 22/23. Plus is a poor FT shooter. Think this deal was only done to get two 2nd rounders back (and give the Resslers some dinner money) but it eats into the space under the luxury line we got with the JC trade. Having FOUR Rockets from last season as the last four slots on our 23/24 roster isn’t a ringing endorsement. Only Gary Bird is really useful.

 

I would be surprised if one or both are even on the roster next season. I’ve been wrong before, and will be wrong again, but that’d be my ideal scenario.

 

TyTy will be dominant in college park IMO

 

Seems pretty clear Quin wants a 4 who can stretch. Wonder if he didn’t enjoy the favors plus Rudy duo with Donovan in Utah.

The issue is they aren't any better, arguably worse, than they were a year ago on paper.

Would be great to see what they could get for a package of Hunter and one of the young guys.

 

Fantastic extension. I was expecting to go into FA and take a salary starting at $35M with Murray. Allows us to extend Okongwu and Bey at market rates and stay below the second apron in 24/25 as long as either Hunter or Capela are traded.

Dejountae is a deal at that number. Also excited he seems genuinely happy to be in Atl. He FaceTimed all the new draftees. Think with a training camp you are going to see a really good team. Crazy deep roster.

Would y’all do Capela / Hunter and the Kings pick for Siakam?

A starting line up of Trae, DJM, Siakam, Saddiq, OO with Jj, Bogey, Bufkin, AJ on the bench would be offensively scary

would be little concerned about who goes in if OO gets in foul trouble.

 

Siakam would play some center. He’s played between 16% and 19% of his minutes there the last three seasons. That could work with Jalen at PF. I would do the deal if he extended at a reasonable rate and ATL them used the MLE under the luxury line to bring another rotation player in. Otherwise we would only be 8 quality deep and that’s not worth trying to get through the season with.

 

Dont think Toronto would say yes to that tbh. Also dont think any teams in the East would allow us to get off *both* contracts that easy.

IMO way to get off both contracts is to loop a third team into the deal that wants Capela (like Dallas) then fwd that return to Toronto. If Siakam is extending then likely Bufkin needs to be in there, but Hunter and a 1st is sufficient for a rental.

Siakam fits very very nicely on our roster. Not someone I would break bank for but def say yes to the right deal.

 

Hunter and a first for Siakam would be a fn dream.

Toronto lost FVV for nothing, they don’t have a ton of leverage with Pascal on an expiring. Still can’t believe they turned down an alleged 3 1s of OG at the deadline

 

Man, I’d kill for it to only be Hunter and a pick.

I *really* don’t want to move Capela and would really prefer not to move Bogi, either. You need shooters around Trae and you saw what that looked like without Huerter last season.

I don’t think they can afford to lose his spacing ability.

 

Save all our assets to acquire the pick to secure Bronny and then sign Lebron. Nothing else matters

 

If this team keeps buying what Quinn is selling we are going to be good man.
