The Blackwell Ghost is in fact a very good franchise. I've seen all 8 of them and would recommend all 8. https://www.dreadcentral.com/editor...ise-youve-never-heard-of-the-blackwell-ghost/ This Is The Best Horror Franchise You’ve Never Heard Of
Not a movie but a TV series but it's a spinoff or continuation of Creep - The Creep Tapes. I haven't read the review so there may be spoilers, but Bloody Disgusting gave it 4 out of 5 skulls. Premieres on Shudder/AMC+ on November 15 “The Creep Tapes” Review – Peachfuzz Is Back and Weirder Than Ever in New TV Series https://bloody-disgusting.com/reviews/3833788/the-creep-tapes-review-mark-duplass/
Violent Nature was a LOT of walking in various mountain woods settings. So much that I started doing the skip-watch during all of those scenes. Easily had to have been 35 minutes total of a camera following a dude that was just walking. The other 60 minutes were "creative gore ways to kill people using farm equipment"
I know the first one is free on Amazon Prime. The rest are available to rent from between $2.99 and $3.99 on Amazon if you want to watch legally.
Admittedly I’m not generally a fan of slasher films, but I’m about halfway thru the first Terrifier and this feels like it’s over the top gore just for the sake of gore.
Saul Goodman if you like watching a guy walk. Watched new Hell House last night and Barbarian tonight. Enjoyed both. Only watched the first HHllc and the newest one. Internet seems to have the opinion those are the one two good ones. Barbarian was fun.
Watching new HBO Salem’s Lot. Is there anything more unrealisticly evil than a King-written school bully? School must have been hell for him as a kid, but damn…bullies like his don’t exist.
Do we need to see the first 2 Terrifier movies before seeing the one currently in theaters? Also, thought some of y'all may enjoy this:
Waste of time imo, I tried with the first 2 and was extremely underwhelmed. I didn’t see them in the theatre, on prime. 4 hours I’ll never get back. Juvenile bullshit. I’ll admit, it starts with something gritty and new, great character, but don’t buy the hype.
Spoilers ahead: Maybe I’m just old, but I watched the second one last night first time, and at the outset of the climax, ole boy gets his weiner ripped off trying to take a piss, I almost fell asleep. I manned up and thinking it must get better. It got worse. Once inside the scary house, you gotta be fucken kidding, snoozefest.
I've only watched the first one and seen clips of #2 and I agree. The only thing I liked ever is when in part 1, at one point Art just pulls out a gun. That did get a laugh out of me.
Terrifier definitely isn’t a good film franchise per se. I just enjoy it for the ridiculously over the top gore. Probably gonna see Smile 2 this weekend.
Smile 2 was solid, although maybe a little too long (over 2 hours, 127 minutes total per the Regal app) and things seemed to ramp up quite a bit at the end, but definitely worth seeing friends
I remember being intrigued the first time I came across Terrifier 1. Then he pulled that chainsaw out on the girl chained upside down… Nah not for me
I watched the shower scene from Terrifier 3… Spoiler Taking the chainsaw up his butthole, then directly up his dick was a bridge too far for me.
The Terrifier series is bad, but in a campy absurdist way I thought they were fine for what they were
Watched the original 1976 Carrie last night and….was this supposed to be a horror movie? It’s over the top to the point of camp, has some just oddly pornographic nude scenes for a character who is canonically 16 or 17, and then Baby John Travolta just crashes into the movie. People in the theater were tittering with an air of “am I supposed to be laughing at this?”
Watched Fright Night for the first time in YEARS, and I totally forgot how fucking stupid Jerry Dandridge is. Your THIRD night in a new home in the suburbs and you bite a girl in front of an open window in full view of anyone looking?
What Friday the 13th was to us younger Gen Xers is what Terrifier is to Gen Z or Gen Alpha. No plot, gore focused, taboo nonsense. They have their history and place in horror.
My 15 yr old nephew was asking if I’d seen the new one. Same stories of people passing out watching it etc which I enjoy because I’m old enough to remember the Blair Witch hype when it came it. Good for them for making a good gory indie film franchise. He said he bought the Art the Clown skin on CoD for Halloween.
See a bunch of Art skins on CoD. My 15 year old thought T1 was fun. I think the guy playing Art is really damn good. Find the movies fun only because of the gore, which makes me laugh. It’s all trashy nonsense.
