Yeah, going to wait for the reviews on SD, but Blink Twice looks pretty iffy. Especially the fact it's directed by Zoe Kravitz - that's a big concern for me. Now hey, she might turn out to be a great actor-turned-director, but it seems really early for her to be directing a 'biggish' film like this.
Watched the worst movie of all time last night. Final Girl Halloween on Tubi complete pile of dog shit
That looks both wholly unoriginal and terrible. Watch the two biggest Japanese horror franchises and just take from both.
Watching it on prime but it’s an MGM+ series. I found it on the tv board. Looks like it used to be on Epix. Its like Lost only a straight up horror series.
Oddity coming to streaming this week https://www.forbes.com/sites/timlammers/2024/08/18/acclaimed-horror-thriller-oddity-debuts-on-digital-streaming-this-week
This wasn’t a good movie, so no idea what you’re so incensed about. No doubt the remake will be utter shit, though.
I like the vibes of this Strange Darling trailer. The callback to the intro of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a nice touch given yesterday was the 51st anniversary of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Day
The only thing I can tell you about Strange Darling is to go in completely blind and just let the movie do its work Charles DeMar
That's the origin. No idea how you do a prequel when the first murder is already in Part 1 and is done by someone who is not the narratives big bad.
This has a pretty unique twist to it to say the least. I give it a 7 out of 10. Has Creep vibes to it. Quick watch too at only 62 minutes.
The mother killing people at the camp isn’t a prequel though. It just seems unless you’re completely reinventing whole cloth there’s not enough content there.
Unless it’s kid Jason murdering camp counselors and other kids before he drowned. Do one of those things where they actually murdered him because he was a little psychopath and the mom just thinks it was negligence that got him killed.
Nope. If the entire premise is built off of prior knowledge of pt 1 and subverting the viewers expectations, it can’t be more than 4 episodes. Unless each episode follows an individual character before getting brutally murdered.
I watched it passively along with the DNC, pretty great for something on youtube. Thought the guy who played Milk did an incredible job.
maybe we have a simple misunderstanding about what we think “prequel” means. A prequel is something that happens before something else. In movies it can be made after the original movie and can be something like an origin story. A prequel to this imo could be either a story about the mother because she is the original killer or like what Professor Moriarty said a young Jason being a shit head. Maybe you think a prequel regarding the mother doesn’t work because she isn’t the main protagonist of the franchise and that is fine.
I wish I could’ve been in a theater to experience the audience’s reaction to the very end of Friday the 13th.
