Been meaning to go to State Street.
Oh man. So jealous you were at Mikkeller. Probably my favorite brewery in the world. Have had some incredibly unique beers from them, only to never see them again. I still think about this one beer I had from them I found in a random San Diego beer shop. It was a rhubarb sour with wild yeast, called "its alive". Have been to their tap rooms in SF and San Diego, but never gotten to the Copenhagen brewery. A definite next time I visit.
Meant to post this the other day. She's unbelievable
Anyone else with good restaurant suggestions in St. Pete/Tampa? 941Gator Zap Branigan Duval thanks a lot for brewery suggestions I got each day planned out for breweries based on the area we plan to be in. Really appreciate it.
When will you be in each city?
St. Pete: Brick and Mortar, Lure, The Mill, Hawkers, Casis, Lemon Grass, Urban bbq, Red Mesa, the avenue, Bodega, Bravado.....when in st. Pete you'll just cruise down Central Avenue.
Will be in Tampa the morning of NYE until after Panthers/Bucs on Sunday. St. Pete from Sunday evening until Tuesday morning.
Well if you have a specific type of food you like to target, let me know.
Would you have a recommendation in Tampa to watch the games on NYE that has good craft beer and food but also has TVs?
#Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Just did that, awesome. One of the coolest, and most informative, museums/exhibits I've seen.
Where are you staying?
If you want to go to the main restaurant/bar strip (SoHo), Green Lemon is generally my go to if I'm looking to bar hop after I'm done eating. Good food, good amount of TVs, and a good draft list.
Duckys is another good place. If you want to be in that area, those would be my first 2 choices.
The Lodge and Yard of Ale are other good game watching venues in that area. Food is passable, but not as good imo. Lodge is like BWW with sushi and hot waitresses, Yard of Ale is just standard bar food. But YoA is generally less crowded because of Macdintons across the street, so I always liked it.
Went there while in Berlin. Felt like I could spend an entire day there. Place is awesome.
This was one of the coolest things I did in Berlin. I did nearly kill a child that was kicking rocks and being a piece of shit in the exhibit.
BamaNug don't miss out on any Doner Kebab.
Ive been here for 36 hours and had 2 already. Heading to Freidrichshein in about an hour and going to try and get into Berghain. Wish me luck
It's the only good food in Berlin, and I'm German.
Say hello to Sven
So it's 2 PM and I just returned from 12 hours in da Berghain. Sven was the bouncer and ushered me in without a word. It was without a doubt the craziest club experience I've ever had. So much more to it, but will have to sit down at a computer to collect my thoughts.
The fucking Berghain. Wow
Just did a morning inshore charter in esterillos oeste where we're staying in Costa. Fucking awesome. Caught like 20 fish between us. Mackerel, Jack, roosters. 250 for up to 4 people and it was an absolute steal. Highly recommend if you're in esterillos oeste area, about 20 minutes south of Jaco.
New Years in Valparaiso was incredible. Two weeks here have been amazing, highly recommend it if you're in SA
On the train from Berlin to Prague, amazing views.
It might just be recently bias talking, but Berlin may be my new favorite city in Europe. Between the history, museums, food, and party scene (both clubs and bars) it has absolutely everything.
I've taken that train trip back and forth a few times, really gorgeous. Totally agree about Berlin, definitely my favorite city in Europe
Also, this is my 3rd time to be in Europe during winter, and EVERYWHERE inside has the heat cranked up so fucking high. Every damn country I've noticed this.
Yes it's cold outside, but whenever you walk inside anywhere it's a race to get all your layers off before I start sweating.
I'm planning a trip to the Balkans later in June and am wondering if someone in here has any recommendations (Split, Hvar Town, and Belgrade seem to be favorites) or can point me in the direction of a helpful post relating to the Balkans. Will probably have about 10 days and am willing to start or end anywhere.
Love the advice on here but hard to filter through 143 pages -- plus it's making me reconsider all my trips.
Road trip the Croatian coast. Split, zadar, hvar, dubrovnik. I'm doing it in may for two weeks and super stoked
Need a date?
This might be my answer, but I'm looking at going to Europe over the 4th of July week. What's your guys ideal summer European destination? I'm thinking the coast of Spain, France, Southern Italy, Croatia, or Greece. Any thoughts?
I have one but how hot are you and can you cook, we can negotiate
I just did Spain this summerand Punta umbria and mallorca were fucking dope. I have higher hopes for Croatia though and people I know who have done them all/most of them rank Croatia at the top generally.
Seriously love mallorca though
Croatian coast is incredible if you're in your 20s and looking to hit the beach and chase tail. Search Hvar in this thread and what's left of the backpacking thead.
Going to be a big year for me. Probably headed to Buenos Aires in March to visit a buddy working there. Then going with the family to Spain in late June/early July. I need to learn basic Spanish and prepare my bank account ASAP.
Just point and Google. Shits easy
Anyone know of a good all inclusive adult only with swim up suites/ swim out suites? Preferably not in Mexico.
I went to the Royal Playa Del Carmen this last year and got their swim up suite. It was awesome.
I've just started the research process but didn't know if anyone had a good suggestion or two.
Solid 5 or 6. Or at least a 1 on the binomial scale. Can't cook but can pour a mean bowl of cereal. And have some poor, yet enthusiastic dance moves.
I'll be 30 and with my GF. Does that change anything?
Would still highly recommend. Maybe go to Dubrovnik, girls seem to fall for that place.
Follow up to this. Virgin Atlantic is a Chase travel partner and is also Delta's US partner. It says on their site that you can book Delta or VA flights with points from either mileage program, so I may have found a loophole. Anyone done anything similar?
You would still have to book the Delta flight through virgin atlantic and they have almost non existant award availability. Just because delta has a flight reward available doesn't mean its always available to partners like Virgin. Sometimes they have a certain amount of awards available to partners, while reserving some for only Delta booking. Best to call Virgin and see if they have the flight you are looking for available before transferring the miles. Also, Virgin tends to charge high fee co-pays for award tickets if flying through London.
Exactly the response I needed. Thanks
Heading to Jamaica in a few weeks. Looking forward to the resort. Food looks dynamite.
Arkadin Finally got my facecradle travel pillow today. Was supposed to be delivered in October. Feels very flimsy. I can see it breaking very quickly if anyone was considering getting one.
Mine doesn't feel flimsy, its too small in the neck though. Just going to give it to the girlfriend I guess
Seems like kinda a bust for all the hype. I was excited when they were doing the kickstarter and the fact that they were so behind schedule while still taking new orders was annoying. I guess that's what you get with anything kickstarter, hit or miss.
Mine is very comfortable and I like the adjustments. Its just not as big as a regular neck pillow, too tight
Jewel Runaway Bay. Ever been in that area??
2 more nights in Prague. Got so weird in the hostel shower last night with an absolutely gorgeous Israeli girl.
I know this thread is usually reserved for more exotic travel but I'm looking for a good long weekend for me and the lady for President's Day weekend. Original plan was New Orleans but prices there are looking absolutely insane due to the long weekend/Mardis Gras. I'd like to go somewhere warmer but the main pull would just be a place to relax and have some good food. I think Charleston is the leading contender right now but the Caribbean is sounding more and more enticing. A little overwhelmed by the number of options there.
hit up the hemingway bar yet? LOVE that place
I'll fight anyone who says Indy isn't the best airport in the country.
Locked my car at 11:06.
It's 11:15 and I've already walked to southwest, checked my bag, walked to CFA and bought a number one, went through security and walked to my gate
