Its honestly so easy to get around these days. eating is probably mostly Vesterbro, Nørrebro and indre by imo. just get somewhere not too far from a metro line.
I spent a week at my buddy’s place a block from the Enghave Plads metro stop last year. Seemed like the perfect mix of food/bars/cafes with a neighborhood feel. He lived above an Italian restaurant, Bevi Bevi, which always seemed packed. Never went though.
Lunch Seafood tower at Le Dome or Huitrerie Régis --> Jardin Luxembourg Baguette and Salty Cheese with a bottle of crisp white wine --> Dinner at Chez Denise or Septime or Clamato walk as much as possible, metro if not. I can give you specific baguette and wine shop if need but hard to fuck that up.
Yea that’s one of the big downsides, like every review or internet comment about the hikes says there are influencers everywhere. Hoping October (which is offszn) helps with that
All matters when you go. We go when door opens on a weekday and it's easy. Get a bottle of wine. Butter and pickles are self serve at the bar. You can order from the meat centric spot next door as well. They have a bigger spot "du marche" if youre stuck going at Higher traffic time
its crazy busy on weekends, basically cant get in. Can get a drink. Last time I was there a fight broke out bc of drunkenness. Sister restaurant next door has outdoor seating. Good snails but not worth it imo.
Just doing a VRBO near Ribeira Brava. Going with wife, two teenage daughters and 80 year old MIL. Probably won’t be doing the same things you will, lol.
Has anyone had experience taking the train from London to Paris? It would take a lot of convincing for me *not* to do it, but planning on doing a day trip because why not
Done it a bunch. Super easy as it appears. Customs line can be long so get to Pancras early, drink at bar on 2nd floor. (Upgrade on eurostar isnt entirely worth it tbh). Grab a taxi right outside train station in Paris.
I had plans to take the train from Paris to London to hit up a few days in London my last trip over there and the damn French went on strike that morning so no trains went to London for a week. nice lil last minute scramble to cancel one Airbnb booking and find a new hotel
I will say to only bring a carry-on size bag and not a big one. I took a vacation for a week after two weeks in France, so I had my big luggage. It was a big pain in the ass in the train from Lyon to Paris.
my sootcase died this trip rip Omni PC spinner Samsonite, got 5 years of hard use out of it now to figure out what to replace it with
The ones my wife bought have held up pretty well. Everyone has them, can't imagine they are much different than the other hardside brands. If you're going carry-on, def get one that has a pocket on one side.
I like that their warranty includes what broke on our Samsonite, so that's worth a chunk with how much we travel
I see you really just want an excuse to buy the orange that is on sale. Too much Clemson in you What broke on your Samsonite?
rear wheel basically pushed through the shell, so both the wheel and the shell are broken and no would probably get the pastel pink/salmon with matching cross body as the wife likes that
I waffled between away and beis for months. They seemed relatively equal, but what drove me to beis was the compartmentalization. So many zippered off sections it’s like using packing cubes. It will be a welcome reprieve from my osprey backpack where I stuffed everything together. I will say- I’m nervous about my first trip. The dimensions are technically a bit over what’s allowed. 50+ countries with the osprey backpack stuffed to the gills and never had a single issue. I know I’ll have to check it on smaller international flights. Hoping no issues on domestic.
lady on delta yesterday carried on what was basically my checked bag size, had to be approaching 24-25 inches. insane no one called it out.
Anyone been to Madrid? going for a 2-3 day thing in April before I meet some friends in Amsterdam, primarily looking for food and bar recs gonna spend like a whole day in the Prado for sure
Will say buy Eurostar tickets well in advance because they have dynamic pricing and it can be stupidly fucking expensive as you get close to the day you’re going
It's awesome. You can take elite recs from folks here but honestly you sit down anywhere that looks remotely good and you'll end up happy. El Retiro is great on a nice day.
can confirm Madrid is great. just pure chaos everywhere. palace tour and the prado museum both great but mostly just drink and eat
Close, and good memory, but we went to the Azores. Madeira seems awesome, but I've sadly never been. Isn't Cristiano Ronaldo from Madeira?
