You think this is the apex of the man who directed Iron Man, the Jungle Book and Lion King? Or the apex of one of the leads of Wedding Crashers? Or Roller Girl and Felicity Shagwell?
jon favreau is a massive director for disney but this movie basically made him a star as an actor. i wonder if that affect his apex (though no one actually understands that category)
Did Swingers represent the peak of Jon Favreau's clout or notoriety? Probably no in both cases. Oh yeah, he also directed Elf. Swingers is clearly not his apex
No sports is really stretching content thin. I enjoyed the Kenny Smith and Will Ferrell podcast last week.
I think how they categorize it as it was a huge hit and after that he established himself as a blockbuster Director so he had the cache to direct anything. He had also came off Elf earlier in the decade which was a hit.
sometimes apex mountain can be argued jon favreaus being iron man and the kickstarting of the mcu is not one of those instances
Cory Booker was exceptional on Flying Coach. The amount of information he could articulate clearly was incredible.
Chef is Favreau's acting apex, but as others have mentioned kicking off the mcu is clearly his career apex.
The Writer: [typing on computer] I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone? My favorite line from a movie ever.
Loved it too. Luckily two of my best friends to this day I knew since I was 8. Always hits me in the feels. River was so damned talented. He could have had a Leo career like they mentioned.
Perhaps this will irritate some of you as well... I’ve noticed Simmons occasionally makes a very pronounced “MMmm” noise when someone else makes a point. It irks the fuck out of me and nearly makes me want to turn an episode off. There’s some awkwardly inauthentic about it. Also, if Fennessey or Ryan fucking says “can I ask you a question Bill?”one more time on a podcast where they’re one of 2-3 ppl on the show, they might as well just produce the damn episode and not talk at all.
Fairway Rollin was already bad once they canned Shackleford but to add WOAT BS pod guest Nathan Hubbard to the mix is salt in the wound
and Bill will blame the podcast's lack of success on there not being a market for golf talk when in reality your host sucks ass
I love how Bill talks about House like he's this super sharp golf gambling guru just because he can name golfers other than Tiger, Phil, Rory and Brooks
Bill has very quickly declared pandemic baseball bad and pandemic hoops good. I’m sure this is in no way related to his current optimism on the Celtics chances and negativity about the Mookie situation.
I haven’t listened him but fuck him if he said that. Literally brought cespedes family bbq in to cover baseball.
Going 4 months with no sports and then spending the first 5 minutes of his first podcast since returning complaining about sports because fans aren’t in the stands was wonderful
With MLB not controlling extra curricular activities this was going to happen. The NBA I think is going to have the most successful outcome out of this because of their controlled environment.
MLB/Manfred deserve all the shit that's gonna come their way, no doubt, it's just disingenuous coming from Bill because he wanted baseball to fail no matter what the plan/protocols were
good to hear Mays talking about football even if it's on another podcast. Would've preferred they not spend like 10 minutes on the Titans but still a good listen
This is still the oddest situation. Mays is outstanding on a podcast. Don’t think I’ve really listened at all to The Ringer NFL show since he’s been off.
I don't mind Clark, its more that I dont think he can carry the podcast alone. Most of the other people he brings on aren't overly great either. Not a fan of Heifetz at all. Its odd to me that its never been addressed or explained. I would be surprised if Mays didnt want to do them anymore, especially since he is doing others podcasts.
