Supposedly Robert Loggia was written off because he had trouble remembering lines and whatnot, pretty sure he had health issues.
I've watched the show a few times and for whatever reason I didn't put together that he was set up at first Pretty much everyone in Tony's orbit gets damaged in some way
This. Feech was supposed to be Tony’s main foil throughout the whole season, representing a challenge to his authority, but they had to write him off prematurely. I really wish there was somewhere we could read how the story was supposed to play out bc Feech is one of the most fascinating characters in the whole show and we really don’t get the chance to see him fleshed out.
I kind of just relive the show through Borko and youtube shorts without actually rewatching I'm not sure anyone deserved to die more than Richie Aprile. He was just a cold disrespectful fuck. Janice sucks for a variety of reasons but he punches her in the teeth and says "what, you gonna cry now?" Total psychopath
The relief on Tony's face when he got inside his mother's house after that call from Janice was amazing
S5 finale now. It really hit me in the feels when Carm called Christopher trying to get in touch with Adriana and then he was looking at all the pics of them at the apartment. If Phil kills Christopher I’m gonna be angry. Fuck Phil.
Looks more like Johnny Cakes. Which I did not learn until years later is an actual thing in New England. Also, delicious.
I wish we got more of Larry and Albert (the fucking parakeet) Barese. Love that Larry’s actor got popped in an extortion ring.
This show was huge in my family when I was a kid, my mother is from Newark, my dad grew up in Bergen county about 25 ish mins from Tony’s house in North Caldwell. I would always secretly sneak down into the basement and watch reruns when I was 10, 11, 12 years old, so while I never saw every episode I always knew the main story beats and the endings for the main characters and remember hearing people in my family complain about the finale. I’m 35 now and just finished watching every episode on a binge in about 2.5 weeks last night. Incredible experience, probably the greatest television experience we will ever watch in our lifetimes. The ending was incredible and pretty easy to follow having understood all the hints that David Chase was leaving along the way. 11/10 best tv show ever made and solid chance it will never be surpassed, though you could make an argument for the Wire. My favorite episodes are Long Term Parking Pine Barrens Unidentified Black Male Sopranos Home Movies Made in America Blue Comet
Side note: all my grandparents who lived in nothern jersey are dead except one who lives in Florida now and I haven’t been to Jersey since 2018, but it was pretty surreal for me seeing so many places and roads I passed as a kid in the back seat of my parents car, I’m about 90% certain I had lunch once as a kid in the diner where Tony meets Melfi and asks her to take him back as a patient when she’s back from being in hiding
Never lived in Jersey myself but my mom grew up there and her family takes great pride in having a neighbor that Big Pussy is supposedly based on
Chances are, if you live in Bergen, Essex, Hudson or Passaic counties, you have a neighbor that any number of Soprano characters could be based off of.
I had an employee who claimed to have been the babysitter for the North Jersey Capo. So many questions I wanted to ask.
I forgot that Agent Harris got Phil killed and was happy when he heard the news. Phil deserved to get his head run over but that was fucked up People on reddit were saying this was based on some real shit that happened with the Columbos having some FBI contact
Gandolfini is such a great actor. Kinda wild that I can’t recall seeing him in other shit. Almost as wild as it taking me 25 years to watch The Sopranos.
Imagine waking up from a coma and the first thing you’re hit with is your nephew cousin pitching a Saw/Godfather slasher film.
