finished Words of Radiance last night and started on Oathbringer
Damn 45 bucks for an audio book. Used my audible free credit for it and will cancel subscription after, do I keep the book?
Id think so, but not sure. I still have my subscription
You'll keep it, just make sure you use all your credits before you cancel.
about 40% done with Oathbringer
Guy is a fucking machine
I remember reading something from Sanderson where he said he saw King writes 2k words a day, so if that was good enough for King that was good enough for him.
The difference with Brandon is he’s said he doesn’t do a ton of revisions compared to other authors. So he writes, revises a few times, and boom, new story.
Rhythm of War cover art
I just finished Oathbringer. November is an eternity away - not only for book reasons.
So, next... Mistborn or Warbreaker?
Warbreaker has more characters you will recognize from Stormlight Archive. Mistborn is better. Can’t go wrong though.
I’d probably go ahead and knock out Warbreaker since it’s stand alone and SA is fresh on your mind.
Just finished Warbreaker yesterday; took me a while to get into it but the back half was quite good.
I ended up reading Mistborn and I really liked it.
just started Well of Ascension.
I just finished Hero of Ages, should I move on to Alloy of Law? It’s usually hard for me to get into sequels that don’t include the original characters.
Yes immediately. They’re great and there are plenty of callbacks to previous characters and plot lines.
About to begin reading WoK tonight after finishing the Lightbringer series. After reading reviews here and online, pretty stoked to be diving in.
Can someone on a spoiler predict tell me the plot behind the reshi islands and of it's due to come into play again. I just recently had it pop in my head but can't remember it all.
Isn't that the place with the great shells. I remember the trader assistant breaking her legs or something.
Found a summary of her story: https://stormlightarchive.fandom.com/wiki/Rysn
Just pre-ordered Rhythm of War. Less than a month until release. I am excite.
Started my reread
Thought I had ordered a while back, but remembered after this post that there was some issue with Amazon the first time I tried. Long story short, I have officially preordered. Let the reread begin
laxjoe The Blackfish Are you guys just rereading OB? I can’t imaging rereading the entire series a month before launch
The whole thing. I likely won’t finish before RoW is released but that’s okay.
No time for a reread I’ll just go find the cliff notes version.
Best site to read cliff notes for the first 3 to refresh my memory.
Book arrives on Tuesday. I just finished part 1 in book 3 last night. I will not be reading the new one on Tuesday Hopefully I’ll be done with this in the next week or so
I came across this the other day: https://www.tor.com/2020/11/11/befo...cap-of-brandon-sandersons-stormlight-archive/
Can't vouch as I haven't read it yet, was waiting until I get Rythm of War in a couple days
I'll do that I may seaerch for a podcast or YouTube to listen at work.
I’m only halfway through WoR in my reread so it’ll be a minute for me. I’m unwatching the thread until I finish. See y’all on the other side.
Finishing up Rise of Endymion in the Hyperion series then knocking this one out.
I read chapter by chapter recaps of the first 2 books and EdgeDancer in preparation for book 4. I still need to read the recaps for Oathbringer as well.
I am almost done with Fires of Vengeance (released last week) so will finish that first, read the OathBringer recap and start book 4 at the end of this week. I am excited.
Lets fucking go
Book arrived just now. Looking forward to getting into it soon!
It has arrived.
Won’t start for a while though.
Got mine today as well. This is my first hardback in the series. Holy shit the book is massive. I have 1/2 a book to finish first then will get to this but is likely going to take quite awhile.
Not sure I've told this story or not. My wife playfully made fun of the size of the book calling me a nerd etc. Well I took one of the hardback books on vacation and my bag got flagged for soemthing. Wife looks at me and says "if it's because of your huge nerd book you'll never hear the end of it"
Spoiler alert: it was. We both got a huge laugh out of it when my book arrived yesterday
My wife cracks me up with the reading. I'll go 2-3 months on/off where I read almost every night instead of watching TV. She bragged the other day that she read an entire chapter of one her books. "Congrats on reading 20 pages over the course of 6 months." She likes to have people recommend books and she orders them and never reads them.
Did everyone read Dawnshard before starting Rhythm of War?
I didn’t even know it existed until now. Brandon is a mad man. I love him.
Wanted to get it on Audible but it doesn’t look like it’s available
I am 6 chapters in to Rhythm of War - I am quite impressed!
Highly recommend you read recaps of the previous books at the very least otherwise it will be difficult
