First time I’ve played in years. Really enjoying it. The short bench kicks my ass every week though. I think Thursday I’m scheduled to have one active position player

I’ve reactivated the league and set a tentative draft date for Saturday, March 24 at 7 pm CT. If I remove ABs as an offensive scoring category, is there a preference for what should replace it?
just an accumulation of stats over the season which is then compared to other members and ranked. Official definition: Rotisserie, or "Roto," is the most common way to play fantasy baseball. In this scoring type, teams are ranked from first to last in each statistical category. Points are then awarded according to the order in each category and totaled to determine an overall score and league rank.
as an interloper, I don't want to come off too aggressive in making suggestions, but I have always preferred the idea of roto fantasy baseball. H2H is weird for a sport that has such long seasons, such different ballparks, lineups, schedules, etc. much like regular season baseball, fantasy baseball is more likely to crown the best team using overall scoring, not H2H wins and losses. Issues is people losing interest because there are no "matchups."
Changes made so far: - Changed scoring type to rotisserie - Changed “at-bats” offensive category to “total bases” Let me know if you are adamantly opposed to these changes. Also, I am considering creating keeper rules that will come into effect for the 2025 season. Let me know what y'all think.
I would just do away with at bats/total bases The category doesn’t have to be replaced, just removed. My two cents
I don’t like the idea of having more pitching than batting categories. Leans things too heavily towards pitching.
What are the current categories? I felt like we had a ton last year or at least more than I was accustomed to
Batting: Runs Homers Total bases RBI Stolen bases BA OPS Pitching: IP K W SV QS ERA WHIP Rotisserie standard is 5x5, so we could get rid of say wins + IP for pitching and Total bases + BA for batting
As someone who has played multiple leagues for years, SVH >>>>SV as a category. Allows players to be competitive in the category without reaching for closers, of which 12-15 teams will replace throughout the year.
Truthfully, I’m fine with staying 7x7. Feels like five categories is too few and doesn’t give much strategic flexibility.
More changes: - Added one extra pitcher slot to account for new IP minimum for a season (1000 total IP is the standard for roto on ESPN, so you need an average of 125 IP for each pitcher in the starting lineup). Changed P settings to require at least five SPs and two RPs, plus a free P slot for either. - To give some flexibility for this change, added an extra bench spot as well. Now a total roster size of 21 players with 17 starters, four bench, and three IL spots.
Also, since we’ve had four more posters express interest in joining, what would y’all think about expanding to 18 teams? Much more common in fantasy baseball than football or basketball.
if there's an open slot, i'll take one. i'm much better in dynasty formats than redraft, so you can expect a solid 6th place finish from me. well out of the money.
WillySaliba can you do me a solid and change the thread title year to 2024? Baron I assume from your response earlier that you’re down again for this year?
I’d be interested in doing dynasty when I know for sure we have a solid lineup of guys who won’t drop out. If we can get 2-3 years of the same group we’ll introduce it.
Unless there is opposition, I'm going to go ahead and add the following four users to the league: bro w2b ...thefuck...?!?! poor paul If someone decides to drop out, Fat Drunk & Stupid will take their spot. Would you guys please send me your emails in a PM so I can send you the league invite?
Forgot about the game in South Korea, which pushes opening week back to March 20, so we’ll be having the draft a week earlier; Sunday, March 17 at 7 pm CT
Love it. Still looking at $50 buy-in with a payout of: 1st: 600 2nd: 150 3rd: 100 4th: 50 Assuming we have 18
I have Venmo, PayPal, or CashApp. Just send me a PM with your preferred method and I’ll request the $50 with the title of “TMBFBB League”.
I think I’m out, but would be willing to stay (and pay attention) if you guys need me to keep the league full.
