Had some time to post some of my shoes on ebay. If anyone is interested in anything I have listed, just shoot me a PM and I'm sure we can work something out. Spoiler https://www.ebay.com/usr/duttjosh10
Did Nike get tired of all the theft in Memphis and switch some things up? My 11’s are coming out of Mesquite, Texas. I dont think ive ever had a pair coming from there.
Buddy from the discord I was previously in hooked me up with a link for the amm "dawn" 5's. Pretty happy about that
Through Social Status? Did it stick? I've seen some cancellations. I think this is the link: https://www.socialstatuspgh.com/products/a-ma-maniere-air-jordan-5-photon-dust-black-diffused-blue
These are really testing me. I 100% know I'd never wear the grey or black pair but I have every other AMM release so I feel like I have to buy these. Really trying to not buy stuff that's going to sit in a pile so going to hold off, I think. I do like the grey pair, I just don't wear 5's. tbh I've been in a funk for damn year a year and just wear the same 15-20 pairs over and over. Rotating got to be too much work. The older my kid gets, the less time I have to fuck off just lacing shoes.
yeah, I'm pretty much the same. I wear pretty much the same 10ish pairs depending on my clothes color. Every time I think I'm going to do something, i just grab something laced up instead and go out the door.
It's very easy to just fall into a rotation. I only rotate probably 5-6 pairs and the rest just sit in boxes or in their containers in my closet unless I'm actually going out doing something and they match what I'm wearing. I have another probably 15-20 pairs to list on ebay because I just don't wear them, and they're taking up space.
I love my wall just visually, think it's an awesome art piece, and it helps me wear more than I would if they were all in boxes. But fuck man there's 200 pairs on that wall so I have 200 to pick from every day. It makes it hard to lace up a new pair when there's already that much to choose from. I still have all 5 Patta pairs from last year, all the Kasima, shit just sitting bc I haven't taken the time to lace them up. I really need to sell like 50 pairs off that wall that I haven't worn 2 years, put new stuff on the wall, sell any ds stuff that won't fit on the wall, and just cut to 200 pairs and be done with it. It's so much work though. Buying is so much easier.
I put in a 500 bid and someone dropped their ask to $501. Out of principle I’m not budging. Lame as hell not to accept my offer and try to skim one extra dollar. I don’t have to have them.
got them on Finish line these and fear pack in a week are all I want. I shouldn’t be buying anything because like dblplay1212 Druce and RalfBully said I have too many shoes that are just in boxes worse thing is I’m like Fusiontegra and never leave the house. Funny part is right now all I’m wearing are a pair of crocs I was accidentally shipped. Ordered my eldest daughter a pair of Chewbacca crocs got sent out a pair of nightmare before Christmas ones in my size by mistake. Called crocs to fix the problem they sent out the correct pair and told me to keep the other pair for the inconvenience. Now when I take my dogs out it’s the crocs I slip on because it’s so easy lol
Probably been discussed before but I haven’t been here in a while. I really enjoy ramitheicon on YouTube.
#Sneakers those dunks you all bought are 25% off, go and get those price adjustments kings https://www.nike.com/t/dunk-low-premium-mens-shoes-m5Bfqz/FQ8746-410
Yea it's cheaper for them to just do that as opposed to you sending it back and ordering again and they know that's what people will do.
So James Whitner is actually a giant shit bag. Been reselling stuff to China in a money laundering scheme.
I'd never thought of the IRS side of things. I've talked several times about how backdooring gr's works. If shops can't do that, it's rip to boutiques.
Yeah it may take some creativity with the books but i think they can legally backdoor. Its the whole money laundering and tax evasion thats the problem.
Haha for sure. Not sure how you'd backdoor and pay taxes on it. I guess you could invoice the backdoor guy. Just something I'd never thought about.
Selling to a Chinese national is an additional legal component, due to their “enemy of the state” status.
Tossed like 12 more pairs up last night. It's a mix of depressing and stress relieving clearing off shelves.
I always thought “backdooring” was selling a shoe you know will go for a lot more on secondary slightly above or at retail without giving regular customers the opportunity to buy them. Never thought of it as straight up stealing.
PM with your best price on the burgundy 1s the amm 12 and the crepe and madder root AM1s I think I’d like to get one of those for my son for Christmas
"Backdoor" can mean a lot of things. Yes, some store managers will "backdoor" a pair to someone for $50 over retail or whatever. Or maybe hold a pair for a friend. This isn't that. In this case, James was "backdooring" thousands and thousands of gr releases to a man in China. Think of it this way. Nike ships James 1800 pairs for his 25 stores of a gr 5 that everyone knows is going to hit discount. Shops don't order how much they want, Nike drop ships it to them. They have no choice but to take X number that Nike sent. James can sell 500 of them, sit on the other 1300 for 6 months, then return to Nike who then sends them to outlets. That's how it's supposed to work, but the issue is that counts as a negative against the boutique. If you're not moving enough product, you'll lose your Tier Zero status and no longer get the limited stuff. So stores get creative. Every shop has people they partner with. Let's say retail is $200. The shop pays Nike about $120. They'll sell 500 to someone at $140 a pair. That person can now sell them to StockX or ig or their website or whatever 2 weeks before release at retail or even blow. Both sides make a little money and the shop is top tier with Nike bc hey they moved all that product. All stores do it to hit the quotas needed to stay on Nike's good side. I read the whole release earlier. It seems like all taxes were paid. The issue here was who James was selling to. He was selling to a guy in China and they went through a middle man in NJ. The Chinese guy and NJ guy were pretty shitty people, it seems, and were washing money from drugs and prostitution. James issue is he didn't file the proper forms for large cash movement so in turn was basically washing the money for those guys. That's what I took out of it.
I wasn’t claiming that this was what I wrote. I was simply saying how you could pay taxes on “backdoored” pairs.
I've been "backdoored" many pairs but most come in form of a PayPal invoice with all taxes calculated. But no, a manager that takes $50 for holding a pair for someone isn't paying taxes on that $50 the guy slides him.
I think you believe I’m doing something more than giving an opinion how something could hypothetically happen. If you’re saying my hypothesis is wrong fine I am not invested enough to argue. Just as long as we understand that’s what is happening.
I'm not sure what we're even talking about at this point. I don't think backdoor of any kind would be considered stealing.
You said “not sure how you back door and pay taxes” so I said I thought backdooring sometimes meant (in essence) giving someone an unfair advantage to buy highly sought after shoes. That’s how you’d pay taxes on backdoored shoe. My only experience with it was my son in laws buddies faking in store raffle results. So I’d be able to buy the shoe for retail but I obviously had an unfair advantage.
