Took 6 months off, my heroic return lasted 2 trap bar deadlift reps till a lower back pop. Thought an easy 3x3 with 315 was a reasonable starting point but guess my back didn’t. Will try again soon and probably not start with deadlifts
Pulled 405x2 with relative ease this AM I've only pulled >400 once before in a meet and I think it was like 417 (can't remember the kilo conversion exactly). Was about 7yrs ago
No way he could do reps of 6 with those straps. Basically Creatine on steriods.....or creatine with steriods
i am within a few lbs of the mythical 200lb. really happy with my programming and nutrition right now.
Also people working out in a public gym without a shirt is not my favorite. Went into the hotel gym last week and a dude was on the peloton shirtless flinging sweat everywhere
Not sure if there is a better thread than this, but I wanted to ask about collagen and creatine. I want to start taking both and any advice would be welcomed. A few questions: Do gummies work the same as the powder? If I should be using the powder could I mix collagen and creatine together in one drink? Any brands I should be looking at for either or stay away from?
Just fine the cheapest creatine monohydrate you can find(I think they sell it at Costco) and take 5g a day Pretty sure you can mix it with whatever. Don’t know anything about collagen
I think I read powder works better and is cheaper than gummies. Also all brands are essentially the same.
The gummies are a rip-off. Take 1g per KG of bodyweight. The 5g for everyone is lazy. It's so cheap just take as much as you want. Bulk Supplements or Ekkovision for flavored ones
Saying to take as much as you want is just as lazy a take. Plenty of studies out there showing the sweet spot is 5-10g. The rest you’ll piss out If you’re taking collagen make sure it’s has all the types necessary for the benefits you’re looking for.
You should be taking 5g: With your morning coffee First breakfast Pre-workout Post-workout Second breakfast Lunch First dinner Pre-workout Post-workout Second dinner With your bedtime tea Otherwise, what are we even doing here?
I’ve seen mixed opinions on taking collagen orally but since we are discussing it I’d like to hear others thoughts
You'd need to point me to a scientific study on this, but I've never heard this. I take 10g with my pre-workout
before I started taking it again like 3 months ago I started reading some stuff about it. I thought I read that gummies weren’t as effective as the powder and that your body can only break down so much and that’s why you load for the first week (10g a day) and maintain after that (5g). Now I’m not attempting to say I’m an expert or that I “did my own research “ or anything like that. I’m simply relaying what I remember reading.
