<ducks and runs>
Did the same. Not the worst 2 hours I've ever spent, but nothing memorable about it
Mighty Ducks 2
No. You went too far.
Don't know how we got this far without mentioning 2 Fast 2 Furious. It has twice the amount of two's so you know it's good.
But seriously I'd put this up there with stuff like T2, Blade Runner 2049, and Mad Max Fury Road as sequels that surpassed the original.
glen powell is v good looking in this movie
Thank you for posting this. I started listening to the podcast really enjoy it.
When listening to the fighter pilot podcast they were talking about call signs. Mentioned that unless you have a call sign from like a family name or something you generally get a fuck up nickname. So it was nice that in the new one the nicknames kind of fall in line with that. (Hangman will hang you out to dry, Omaha where the fuck even is omaha, Harvard ohh look at them they’re fancy they went to Harvard)
This movie rocked
Elite soundtrack in that film too
We better get a gaga live performance at the Oscars
Tom should do a Days of Thunder sequel next.
What are the lines from the sequel that stand out? The lines you will be quoting for years? Nothing stands out for me. Is it too soon? Been quoting and watching the original for almost 30 years.
I was kinda glad they didn’t force that, though. Those kinds of lines need to happen naturally and not feel like they’re manufactured.
It wasn’t as funny as the first so I’m not sure if it will have them like the first.
They seemingly built the whole movie around “talk to me, Goose” from the first one.
Used "Just wanna manage expectations" once already with the GM.
Terminator is better than T2
And I worked on T2
I feel like you would be in the very small minority on this one.
Terminator was a better story, T2 was better visually. At the cast&crew screening for T2 Stan Winston got the biggest ovation - we really had no idea what the finished product was going to look like
I know a few pilots and everyone has a callsign bc of something they fucked up on while flying.
This also tracks from the pilots I know.
"Maverick" should prob be "Pate" then.
It’s going to hit a billion worldwide. It’s at $747 through three weeks and that’s with it not being opened in China.
Is it going to China?
yea, they made changes to his jacket to make sure it would have no issues in china.
Still a bit surprised only because it's all about the US Navy.
as long as it's not about us showing superiority to china, they don't care.
incorrect. they initially took off the Taiwanese flag from his jacket in the trailer, which basically self-censored the movie from Chinese pushback of release.
but they added those flags back and they are in the movie. as such, it is not expected to be released in China.
well shit. I didn't realize they went back on it.
I enjoyed this a lot more than i was expecting, worth having on in the background while working
Just started this and they mention the movie being done around 2019 and getting delayed because of covid. I can't imagine everyone involved with the movie having to sit on the finished product for years knowing what a great movie they had produced.
It was the first movie to have its trailer shown during 3 different Super Bowls
I guess the extra reps is how you achieve the perfection of Top Gun: Applebee's
Yeah really good video. Liked the explanation about about needed to fly upside to regulate blood flow to the brain
Shame on all you doubters.
I’ll gladly take the hit.
Clearly said if anyone would get it done, it would be Cruise.
you got quoted for saying it would be all CGI.
After which I said if anyone would insist on it it would be Cruise.
Here’s poster agreeing with me yet calling me out now. What a time to be alive.
Hard to blame people for being cynical with Hollywood today. This movie has no right being as good as it turned out. It had everything working against it.
this thread has been around so long that FriarJuggs posted in it
