Last TMB meet up was in 2010 iirc for the PSU @ Bama game. We did Bama @ LSU before then. Then we got old.
this is actually wild. this going to keep so many people from getting the care they need. depressed? can’t be trans in missouri just realized you’re trans? you’ve gotta wait 3 years to do anything about it (good luck not suffering from depression!)
the NYT was also cited when mississippi banned trans youth healthcare. “even the biased liberal media is against transgenderism!”
Update on this from the dipshit would be author of the hit piece. Not going to give the Times much credit because of their previous terrible coverage but at least it won’t be published there
The times will find someone on staff to write another “just asking questions” thinkpiece and that scumbag will find some reactionary rag to publish his “questions”.
Emily Bazelon used to host slates culture gabfest which was the first podcast I ever heard like 15 years ago and she was the worst. Good to see she’s still just awful.
I'm assuming the attendance was horrible since I never heard anything subsequent about it and it got zero news but I got an email this morning that there was going to be an anti-trans protest today. Which would seem like an easy way to get yourself fucked up in Weho.
Sorry glimmer Missouri politics in general have become hateful, small minded and ignorant and this is no different. The legislature voted to defund libraries, the Senate overrode election results to expand medicaid, made abortions illegal and are now attacking trans people bc it gives their mouth breathing base something to rally against.
Iirc they gave Zeke the option and he said to air it. Not a situation he should ever be in but I do think they gave him an option.
I have cousins who just moved to Florida because Missouri was too liberal for them.... It's turned into a god damn war zone down here.
They literally told me they moved here because of our Governor. Which is odd, because if you're that much of a fan, you'd probably be the type of person who thinks he's about to move to DC.
I've met several people in my neighborhood that have said they moved here bc of DeSantis and "freedom." Knew quickly that we weren't going to be hanging out.
eh, i will happily slur anyone turning on our community and siding with the leopards that want to eat our faces. and i have no qualms using that particular one because it’s been levied at me before being physically assaulted outside a bar. but i got rid of it because that nuance will be lost here
That episode of survivor ended up doing a lot of good. IIRC Zeke said he was ok with airing it and used it as a platform to advocate for trans people. A lot of good discourse came out of it. Cant imagine it would have been as productive if it happened this season.
They are cis white Christian men so they are free to live their life. They don't care about anyone anyone but them.
I know what they mean is "not enough of the right people are being targeted and crushed by the state" but i just loathe the craven excuse of "freedom"
small town outside of kc A new neighbor moved here from washington state bc of desantis. Started yelling at our nanny about the vaccine within 3 minutes of meeting her. Then once he regrouped asked if our kids could hang out. "nah, we're good"
We've talked about moving plenty, and I had thought transgender laws might be a good proxy to judge potential destinations, but there are really not many choices. And the states that do have protections all appear to be super cold which isn't ideal. If Georgia could somehow fully turn blue on this, I'd be appreciative.
Curiously asking is there a split between the LBGTQ+ where the LGB are non inclusive like this or is this more of a one off?
My rich, shitlib uncle and his husband are way too anti-trans for comfort. How they don't understand what is happening, particularly given their lived experience, baffles me.
That’s what puzzled me. I would have figured the shared negative experiences would have fostered more unity and inclusion.
