No confidence in Satterfield to take advantage of it and/or Adkins and his OL to block well enough for them, but Jesus fucking easter huevos do we have playmakers all over the fucking offense this year. Going to be aneurism inducing watching all this talent get squandered. Lloyd, Wells, Vann, Juju, Brown can all bust something. Amos, WF transfer RB, Leggette, Blake look like they belong too. Bell wasn’t even out there. Also I know people are excited about Stogner, but the TE Kenion(so?) is an absolute freak monster.
Don’t trust the QB’s to be able to spread it around. Doubt they’ll have the time back there anyway. Best case is Connor Shaw like playing. Accurate, can make all the throws. Reduce sacks and pick up first downs with feet to keep chains moving. No feel for the D, but it seemed like both offense and defense players were making athletic plays out there.
Satt loves calling max protect shot plays, you just didn’t see them turn into anything because the QBs sucked last year
"“I told Spencer, I’m like, ‘Is there any (chance)? Change your flight. Just stay. Just so you can meet Coach Satterfield,’” Beamer said." Ain't too proud to beg
apparently our offense is "modeled off the Los Angeles Rams" and then he says we want to be using 3 tight ends on first down
Everyone is modeled off the Rams And we should be doing that because deploying some combination of Stogner, Kenion, Bell, Jenkins, and Terrell from tight sets will be a matchup nightmare for most teams. Either you’re covering one or two of those guys with LBs or you bring in nickel, dime personnel and get wrecked by the running game.
We have more players at the TE/WR hybrid than we have in a while. Between Bell/Kennion/Stogner we will have the weapons. I can only hope that our papier-mâché oline takes a big step forward, but since Adkins is still here I won’t hold my breath.
I think we might see some more 2RB stuff this year as well similar to what they did with Trai Jones and sometimes Kevin Harris last year using Bell or even Wyatt Campbell in that role or having Juju, Joyner, or Bell start in the slot and then motion into the backfield to create confusion. We have a lot of guys that can be used creatively to keep defenses guessing and I’m hoping that Satt does that like he did against UNC instead of being bland as shit.
i won't apologize for my spelling. many people are saying it's been misspelled all these years all these years
Not a country music guy, not a "big radio singles" guy, but I am a Darius Rucker guy Spoiler Darius Rucker on championships, concerts and that tattoo UofSC alumna set for free concert to celebrate Gamecock women’s basketball Posted on: April 21, 2022; Updated on: April 21, 2022 By Megan Sexton, [email protected], 803-777-1421 Darius Rucker has made no secret of his love for all things Gamecock. Consider his response to a tweet on April 2, the day of the men’s Final Four game between North Carolina and Duke, a matchup that captivated the college basketball world. “Who you got? #UNCvsDuke” the tweet by Lauren Beasley read. Rucker’s reply: “Who cares. I got @GamecockWBB.” The country music superstar and Gamecock superfan’s roots run deep garnet. And, once again, Rucker will give back to his alma mater as he takes the Colonial Life Arena stage Sunday night (April 24) for a free concert for students to celebrate the women’s basketball team’s national championship. The plans for the free show started gelling soon after the Gamecocks topped UConn to win the team’s second national championship in five years. A video of Interim President Harris Pastides, interviewed on the court during the victory celebration about the possibility of a Rucker show, started circulating on social media. Pastides’ message for Rucker: “We want it right away.” Rucker quickly responded: “I’m in. Sooner the better!!!” Country music superstar and UofSC superfan Darius Rucker shows off his his new tattoo — a custom designed gamecock — just in time for the national championship celebration. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the show, which will feature an opening act by rap artist Nelly. While he now is a chart-topping country artist, Rucker got his start as the lead singer for Hootie and the Blowfish, formed with his Carolina classmates in the 1980s. We caught up with Rucker to talk about basketball, Dawn Staley and Sunday’s show. On winning the national championship I mean, it's awesome to have a dynasty right there in Columbia, South Carolina. I think it's amazing what they're doing there, because it’s what every coach dreams of doing — building a program, recruiting and winning. On Coach Dawn Staley She's funny. She's so fun to be around. She’s a cool, laid-back person in life. But when you see her on the court, she coaches hard. She coaches with love, but she coaches hard. On being a recognizable Gamecock fan and the request for a celebration concert It's awesome to be that guy and be a part of that family at the university. I feel like (the fans) feel. They expected me to play a show. I expected me to play a show, too. These girls have gone out and just played so well, so well and were so dominant. And it seems like I needed more, so I called Nelly and said, ‘How much to come play with me?’ And he was in. He was there.” What to expect at the concert Nelly killing it and then me going after him and trying to kill it. It's going to be a lot of fun. That's what that night is going to be about. Just fun. The importance of a show for the students I mean, in a perfect world for me, we would have done it at Williams-Brice or on the Horseshoe, so you get all the students and then you could have a whole bunch of alumni who also support the team so much and went to the games. But, if you do it at (Colonial Life Arena), you want it to be for the students because, I mean, these are memories that you want them to make. I remember when I was in college and the memories I made of seeing Eddie Murphy or seeing the pope, and all that stuff that basically only students get to do. So, if it’s going to be for somebody, it should be the students. On that gamecock tattoo It’s new. I got it four or five months ago. This great artist, Luke Wasserman, is a friend of mine. I told him I wanted to cover up an old (tattoo) and I knew I wanted to cover it up with a gamecock. He researched it and drew it up by hand. To have an original piece of art like that; that’s not something anybody else has. I was like, ‘Wow. Man, that’s exactly what I wanted.’
Not that we had much of a chance, especially after Frank was fired, but GG Jackson just committed to UNC.
I heard there are character concerns and academic concerns with him and I am deeply connected to the basketball so you can trust me guys

Ftr, it's Strom Family law (Strom law firm is Pete Strom). They're also on Trenholm now. Good people. Can't recommend Susan and Patty enough.
A white kid from Hammond or Heathwood dressed as him for Halloween once. Surprisingly didn't come out too offensive
Heard the new men's soccer coach on the radio this morning. British talking fellow. killrbee7 what's your opinion on this guy?
I know killrbee7 (and everyone else in the soccer community) hated Berson, to the point they'd even attend Clemson to not have to play for him. Hoping Annan has better PR in the Palmetto State
Reading tea leaves on Clemson baseball players transferring here -- Monte about to get added to the staff?
I don’t know how we could do that without letting one of the hitting/pitching coaches we already have go
I think the outfielder was an isolated thing and then the catcher was a rushed response to Burgy and Kingston getting into it at their season exit interview
I’m assuming SC is still a good state for HS baseball talent. But I don’t know shit about HS baseball in any state. Is the talent here in state to get us back to top 10 status regularly, or nah? I feel like the last guy here had us in the top 25 at least most of his time here but may be I’m wrong. It’d be super fun to have at least one other USC team that plays on TV to give a shit about during post season play.
Bobby Richardson, June Raines and Ray Tanner all went to multiple CWS. It's been done by several people in several eras so I'd say the environment is there
My son currently plays HS baseball for a 5A school so I’m around it a lot right now. Our state has multiple D1 level baseball players every year and if they all went to the same school then they’d be competitive. Realistically SC needs to cherry pick 3-4 instate and get the rest from out of state, JUCO, and portal. Kingston will be fired next year if we miss the tournament. Tanner should be gone by then. It’ll take a year or two for us to get competitive again. Coastal, Wofford, Clemson, CofC, Winthrop, etc all have good players. Right now they are all just spread out over a bunch of SC teams. When we had success, we were only competing with the draft to keep players. Smoak, Havens, etc were either going pro or coming here. Just not the case anymore. Landon Powell is gaining a lot of momentum to be our next coach. I think he’d have a shot to make us relevant again.
We have two national championships and 4 national runner-ups since 1975. Probably a top-10 baseball program in the span if not better.
Long way to go and cannot say I disagree. Just talking about perception and momentum right now. A lot will change before an actual coaching search starts but he would have the support of a lot of former players and since our AD is a lame duck then that might win the day. We will probably have new BOT members, a new full time president, and a new AD when our baseball coach search starts. Too many variables to actually make any kind of realistic predictions. Just threw it out there for our discussion and he is publicly saying he wants the job or on the staff.
I had the same reaction when I saw his name. Gave me “let’s just get a good Carolina boy in there” vibe. But he’s building a consistent winner up there in tigerville, and I feel like his name would carry some weight in the SC baseball community. He’d be less of a reach than Beams in my very distinguished baseball opinion
I obviously like him better than Berson. Wants us to play a much better style of soccer, which should resonate more with top players. It was smart to bring someone in with his academy connections.
