Daniels just said Monday Scott Frost was backing out of the deal with Nebraska and then he got a phone call from Osbourne who talked him into leaving.
I'm getting zero work done today until this shit is announced. Good thing I dont work that hard anyways.
Man, if all that stuff from Daniels and Pat Clark is true.. Frost made a massive, massive mistake. And I don't mean FL>NEB or any trash talk kinda stuff. I mean like, on a personal life level. That dude's got some serious issues he needs to sort through.
Did you bother to read what they're claiming or listen to Daniels show? Living other peoples dreams and doing things you feel obligated to do, instead of things you want to do, is rarely a recipe for success. Also, why the fuck are you all still here?
Conversely, it could have been his dream to be at Nebraska and his loyalty to his wife and the players that was keeping him from going. We don't know but the fact is that if Osbourne had slipped on a banana peel last year Frost would be the UCF coach today and for the foreseeable future.
players will be told at 11 a.m. who the new coach is...should be finding out in the next hour or so Sounds like it's not Neal Brown, it's not Jason Candle, and it's obviously not Sumlin. So it's gotta be Walters, Elliott, or maybe even Seth Littrell?
HAHAHAHA. UCF going from 0-12 to 13-0 back to 0-12. Goodness I'm so sorry guys. He led us to a championship, but as a coordinator or man in charge he was severly lacking. Get ready for press conferences that would be more interesting interviewing a doorknob.
He was the QB coach at OU for Sam Bradford, then took over as OC when Kevin Wilson went to Indiana. Then proceeded to have Landy Jones for approximately 9 years, where we threw it all over the place and put up a bunch of stats, but weren't as balanced as the past few seasons. His offense fell off the Trevor Knight/Blake Bell years and he was fired after OU got crushed by Clemson in a bowl game (the first time). Seems like he's done well at Mizzou recently. He also won the 2000 MNC. He also dislikes recruiting
According to Shannon Green, a source said Walters and Beckton may end up in Nebraska, all take that for what it's worth.
I feel like you guys have to give a Danny White hire the benefit of the doubt until he proves otherwise, no? This seems pretty similar to your last hire except maybe not quite as hot of a name or as hot of a guy.
Seems to be a less good looking version of Frosty that's already been fired from his alma mater. Combined with Randy Shannon for recruiting / defense, I don't think it's a bad hire at all. Pretty decent, actually. Hope we can keep Troy at OC.
Will wait on rest of staff. Love the DC hire and his offense is good. No idea if he can recruit but if he brings in guys who can then I'll be fine with it.
Yea, he was "a lazy recruiter who didn't feel like putting together game plans until the last minute when he slapped it together and blah blah blah."
I don't love it, but I felt the same way about Frost at first. Then I came around to it after marinating a few hours. He has a great offense in Mizzou that is similar to what we run now. Shannon is a huge upgrade from Chins as DC, so that's nice. No idea if Walters stays, but if he does that would probably be ideal. I don't see it happening though.
I'm inclined to just say I trust Danny and go along with it. Until proven otherwise, he hasn't made a bad coaching hire yet at UCF.
Corey Bell the DB coach. I can’t imagine he is worse than Fisher and he looks to be an upgrade as a recruiter.
HC - Heupel DC - Shannon OC - ???? DB - Corey Bell Supposedly Heupel will talk to Walters and Beckton to see if they fit and he wants to retain them. Same thing happened with Beckton when Frost came on board.
