Another reason B12 adding Arizona, ASU, Utah and Colorado works well is because once the ACC eventually breaks up and conferences go to 20. B12 can fill the gaps in the SE with the left overs
Pac 12 has some great road trip cities. Add these schools for the trips to Phoenix, Denver, And maybe even Seattle if Washington doesn’t go Big 10
Do players source and negotiate NIL deals themselves? Or is that the responsibility of these NIL collectives? Pretty badass if kids are cold calling companies at 18.
All those big 12 marketing materials only for ucf to eventually join the Big USA Conference or some shit
They will typically join a platform that facilitates the deal-making process between brands and athletes. My buddy owns one such platform, Dreamfield, and I freelance content for them from time to time, so I see some of it from the inside. Some of them are hitting up brands and doing their own thing, or the brands are reaching out to them, but I'd say most of these deals are happening through agents or platforms like Dreamfield, Icon Source, etc.
We've been told to just reach out to UCF directly and tell them athlete profile we want to have and they will send us a list of players we could hire.
That's what I'm hoping for. I loved going to the Stanford game 7 years ago ( you know, other than the result of the game ).
Having lived in PAC-12 country for a few years now, the conference is wildly entertaining. It was always way too late for my old ass when I was on the east coast so I rarely watched. Also cleaned up this past season betting pac-12 basketball. If this does materialize and Arizona gets added I would recommend a trip to Tucson, especially if you’re into outdoor activities and amazing weather from October - April. If done right, Tucson low key kicks the shit out of Phoenix.
Tucson is a great city. Hipster vibes, but still a party energy that is evident. Love that city and the mountains around it
Pac12 after dark is where it’s at. Love football Saturdays ending with everyone else in bed and me still up watching some irrelevant Pac12 game that hits the over on total points
Depends on the implications for UCF, if we are playing them I obviously watch, if the game impacts our standing late in the season I watch. If it's a random mid-season OOC game not a chance
They might actually be doing something smart... https://247sports.com/Article/Big-1...-add-up-to-six-Pac-12-teams-report-189689945/ The Big 12 is reportedly in discussions to add up to six teams to the conference, focused on Pac-12 members, according to CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd. Wildcat Authority’s Jason Scheer reported earlier the Big 12 and Pac-12 would meet Tuesday to discuss the future. “The Big 12 is involved in deep discussions to add multiple Pac-12 programs as a way to shore up its membership in the wake of the USC and UCLA defection to the Big Ten, sources tell CBS Sports,” Dodd wrote for CBS Sports. “At least four teams are being considered with the potential for the Big 12 to add more as realignment continues to shake out. Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah were mentioned specifically as the teams being targeted by the Big 12, sources tell CBS Sports. There is also consideration of adding Oregon and Washington to make the Big 12 an 18-team league, the largest in the FBS. A merger of the Big 12 and Pac-12, in some form, is also a possibility.” This news comes on the heels of USC and UCLA leaving the Pac-12 for the Big Ten by 2024. The news also comes the week after the Big 12 tabbed Brett Yormark, COO of Roc Nation, as its next conference commissioner. Yormark has been with Roc Nation, founded by renowned rap artist Jay-Z, since 2019. Yormark previously spent 14 years as CEO of BSE Global, a company that manages and controls Barclays Center and its primary tenant, the NBA's Brooklyn Nets, in addition to the Nets G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets. Yormark also had six-year stint working with NASCAR at the corporate level.
Also, the Pac12 put out a statement saying they were going ahead with media rights negotiations... who in their right mind is going to pay anything for media rights to a conference that might not even exist in 6 months? Seems totally bizarre unless they already have plans in place for new members, which I can't fathom they have at this point.
Big fan of twins playing for UCF and as a Braves fan I’m a big fan of athletes names Michael Harris. We could have 2 sets of twins starting on our defense for 3 years lol
Hell yeah that's a great get right there. Hard to celebrate any commitment too much these days but I'll take it for now.
Just because we need something to talk about other than realignment, what are the best UCF games you've seen in person? Mine will always be 49-42 over USF to keep the undefeated season alive. Second place is 2007 CUSA Championship game, Joe Burnett's punt return and peak Kevin Smith. And third has to be against Texas to open the stadium. Best non-UCF game I've seen was Oregon beating Washington 30-27 in OT in 2018, Autzen is everything they say about it and more, rushed the field with my buddy when it was over.
1. 2017 vs USF 2. Peach Bowl 3. College Gameday vs Cincy 4. Liberty Bowl vs UGA DEAD LAST. The loss at UAB in Birmingham when we saw a literal dumpster fire before the game pulling off the highway. TableKnight Sub-Zero
Don't know how I forgot to include GameDay, that has to go to #3 for me, I blame it on the fact that I'm old. Incredible atmosphere and even better game.
2017 vs usf has to be the top as it’s one of the best football games I’ve seen period. Just incredibly compelling from start to finish. Skill all over the place. As a neutral observer you had all of the back and forth then ucf pulls away only for a massive usf comeback with 2 point conversion AND THEN Mike Hughes. peach bowl is up there because of what it meant but that game had a slow as fuck 1st half and it was almost taken away at the end with that horrid chop block call and missed field goal. The 1st fiesta bowl was a much better complete game with like 6 home run plays. So much fun. Non ucf would be one of the wide right games back Before college. The old orange bowl when Miami was good was the best.
My favorite part of that game was spending the first quarter following the line of scrimmage from the stands and moving our seats with every play because there were like 500 people there. Iirc we scored in our opening drive super easily and then didn’t score for pretty much the rest of the game.
Most impactful, the Peach Bowl. Most exciting UCF vs USF 2017 Most fun, UCF at Louisville 2013. Start of the 4th quarter Louisville fans started consoling me, then we won and the stadium was completely shocked and it was amazing... Then I did the bourbon trail
Lousiville was one of the few games I watched in a crowd, I'm usually a solo watcher because I pace and cuss too much for crowds. Was at Frank & Stein's downtown with a bunch of UCF people, so nervous but such an amazing celebration once we finally won.
One of my favorites was Penn State in 2013. They were 2-0 with the 5 star Hackenburg. They ended up pretty bad that year but beating them at night in happy valley was amazing. Not to mention my brother and mom both graduated from there.
This was also the start of my hate for that fucking hack Charlie Strong, saying the better team lost the game, such fucking bullshit.
UCF vs Louisville was Sub-Zero and MORBO! favorite game they didn’t attend because they met me that day. My favorites are both major bowl wins. I didn’t attend the Fiesta bowl part 2 so me and TableKnight are undefeated at big bowls. Mike Hughes return game is also up there. Went to that game last minute and glad I did. Drove from Savannah morning of that game.
The Fiesta Bowl against Baylor was one of the major nails in the coffin of my first marriage because my now ex had moved across the country to California the same day and I insisted on watching the game rather than “spend time with her getting her comfortable”. So that’s in retrospect probably my favorite game.
Honestly, the 64-12 game was tolerable only because by the start of the second quarter, the game was settled. What made it bad for me was not noticing my seats were next to the USF band. Fuck I hate their fight song.
What's playfly and how's this work? I didn't know we could do stuff outside our own conference for media?
I don't necessarily believe so. Peetz was absolutely in over his head at times last year. FWIW I recommend reading this on Mangas.
As an analyst I will take him. If Gus wants to pull the Saban analyst coaching rehab program at UCF then I’m all for it.
for some reason he bought a hummer ev which is hard to get i guess and gave us 5k to hang out with him when it showed up? sounds like we're just kinda whoring ourselves out for the 5k which is why its a "big deal" on their social media. seems like a rich guy wanted to brag and we're just allowing him to do it on twitter to get a check from him.
“Ucf athletics” “uh hi. How much would it be to have cheerleaders show up to celebrate me buying a car?” very fake paparazzi at a bar mitzvah vibes
