I don’t like watching ‘Gus style’ QBs but it seems like KJ would be a great fit and he has size to hopefully be more durable than JRP but is the UCF interest for real? that Coastal Carolina QB played Gus
He was in Orlando yesterday. To some degree, whether he ends up at UCF could be predicated on where Cam Ward ends up. If Ward goes to Miami, then a much better chance KJ comes to UCF. TCU I think was also mentioned as a possibility for him. If he's looking to put up numbers next year, UCF is probably the best place for him.
Simply put if Gus(who made his career on the back of Cam Newton) can’t create the top offense in the Big 12 with KJ and our returning talent then he isn’t the guy and we should move on. That’s why I want KJ.
An injured JRP got us 6 wins, therefore if we win anything less than 8-9 next year it’s a big disappointment.
Yeah the o-line started out not great but quickly became good enough to get the job done. JRP's injuries and inconsistency, more-than-occasional WR gaffes, and the vast majority of the defensive play were the real problems.
No idea why anyone thinks a healthy JRP is a 3 win difference but with returning starters on offense, no excuses next year. that said we can also stop saying “if we had a healthy JRP” when half of his problem is his decision making and specifically where and how to run at defenders. It’s not a freak accident he couldn’t stay on the field ala KZ. JRP being injured is the problem with how jrp plays
KJ is about as good of a QB as we can expect to land without getting lucky with an unheralded QB recruit (ie, Milton and maybe DG). This guy started for three years in the SEC West. That’s something. He knows good football.
Totally agree with you. I actually don’t think we get a single extra win with a healthy JRP this past year.
You can say Baylor but that was more of a coaching catastrophe than anything. But I won’t push back at that one. But I’m not sure jrp jumps out to that lead either.
My understanding is that Arky's OL was so bad that KJ probably didn't have enough time to throw downfield. Regardless, it sounds like he took a big step back this season under the new OC. He went from air raid to pro style system. Hopefully an RPO system like Gus runs will be the optimal situation for KJ. Given his metrics, I'd guess it's a perfect fit.
Sounds good to me! What's your read on what happened with him and the offense this season? It was a pretty obvious step back for him in terms of his stats.
I would take everything coming out of Arkansas last year with a grain of salt. Dude was so good for years and is a great fit for Gus.
O-Line was absolute dogshit (was given at most 2 seconds before someone would be in his face/hanging off him on top of snapping the ball issues all year long), receivers had semi-dicks for hands. Enos was a dipshit and didn't have receivers separated, routes would have 2 guys being covered by 1 defensive back due to spacing. Things opened up a bit when we put in the Guiton as OC, but then OLine problems still overshadowed everything.
That’s kind of what I’ve heard from other Arky fans. I have zero reason to think KJ can’t be damn good for us playing in the B12 if he was solid in the SEC West.
O y’all had Enos??? That’s all you had to say I remember that clown at Miami. Just an absolute fucking bum
Remember when we disappoint you did that shit to yourself. I will not allow myself to be bamboozled again I don’t care if Williams stays in college and transfers to ucf. I just assume Gus will fuck it up
Basketball season looks like it’s going to be another super fun one. This team has zero offensive identity and it’s brutal to watch.
To be fairrrrrr, we narrowed it down to only 25 points at the end. So, yea. Pretty fucking good if you ask me.
Can someone explain how he ended up at ecu in the first place? DB seems fully upgraded. Still huge doubts on front 7 but trending in right direction.
Walker, hunter and Alexander are starting next year? Maybe that leblanc is in there next year but we still need a good edge to help Alexander.
We’re fine at DT: Ricky Barber Lee Hunter John Walker Matthew Alexander Derrick LeBlanc Andrew Rumph Marcus Downs Now, when it comes to DE, I’m concerned: Malachi Lawrence Daylan Dotson (UT Martin transfer) Jamaal Johnson Isaiah Nixon Kaven Call I’m wondering g if that new Texas Tech transfer might end up at EDGE instead of LB.
