Nope - and I should have taken your advice. Love the watch and style but kind of wish I had gone for the 41. Still happy overall and hoping I'll like it more once it's sized.
Size it and wear it for a week or two straight. It will not feel too small, it’s just perception. And if it still feels too small, sell it to me at a heavy loss after the two weeks are up.
This just arrived, came on an aftermarket NATO. Link me some 20mm bands. Don’t think I want to do natos with the open case back. I’m going to grab a black Barton silicone band for now since I wash my hands dozens of time throughout my workday (this may replace the gshock as my daily watch.) Would like a soft, comfortable toffee leather band.
I’ve been happy with the Crafter Blue curved end straps for the price. They have some universal rubber straps too but I haven’t tried them.
I’ve been getting blown up with ads for these on Facebook and instagram and I kinda like them too. Kinda have a hard time going for a fake knock off looking AP though.
I can't lie, I like these AVI-8 watches and their $2 Japanese quartz movement more than I should. I just like the design and color pops.
Like 10 years ago I had one on my watches bookmark folder as my next purchase but then never ended getting on.
Step mom gave this to my wife out her drawer and apparently its worth a few grand(?). Hard to tell as there are a few versions
It's a Tuskegee Airmen theme. They have a few colors. https://avi-8.com/pages/flyboy-tuskegee-airmen-meca-quartz-limited-edition
Is it the same color? I’ve seen a few different versions online and not sure if some are more limited than others. Not appraised yet.
I noticed the same, when I looked online... I couldn't find the exact variant, but all seem to be valued in excess of $10-15k, at a minimum
Not yet...I wanted to see some in the wild first because the pictures to me are a little too instagrammy to really get a feel for them. I think they are supposed to be released soon, so I was going to wait for some reviews.
The nordso has been around for a bit (and I like those). I was more talking about the akva model. There are a lot of posts about henry archer in here...the feedback I've seen has been pretty positive with the brand in general
Newbie question: Is bezel size a purely personal decision or are there some basic "rules" to follow? 7" wrist and I'm thinking 38-42 is probably where I should be looking?
Generally 36-43mm would be a good starting point, but... Rule #1: Try it on, before you buy. There are lots of other variables that impact wearability & comfort on wrist.
Definitely a personal decision, but it helps to try them on first. Sometimes the thickness or lug placement skews things. I think mine is between 7 and 7.5, and mine are all in the 38-42 range.
This is a 43mm my wife got me many years back. Is this an OK looking fit? It seems like a decent fit to me, but definitely would pick a smaller size on my next purchase.
Fits surprisingly well for that large of a dial. If you’re actually a yeti, you may find 38s to be too small. As everyone has said, just try everything on and buy what you like. At the end of the day, statistically speaking no one cares what watch you’re wearing. Except us. We care, obvi.
Bought my first nice watch. BB58 is the perfect everyday watch to me in person. Added a olive Chevron strap from crown and buckle to wear while it's hot.
Well well well look what showed up at my desk this morning. Work colleague picked it up for me in Miami over the weekend.
