My god at the opening credits and the name after name after name of the voice actors in this one.
Done with rewatch and that one slapped. You have to geek out when T’Challa and Yondu fight together and they mix the Black Panther and Guardians themes. Too many cool easter eggs to list as well.
Found this analysis on reddit. What happened on earth during episode 2.
You might be wondering what exactly happened back on Earth during this episode. I'll put together the story of the avengers using bits and pieces of the show's events.
Buildup To The Avengers:
In the films preceding the Avengers, we can assume everything happened normally. Shield took possession of the Tesseract, Thor came to Earth after Loki tricked him, Iron Man still made his suit and became a hero.
Due to Thanos not taking the infinity stones, Loki never goes to Earth and the Chitauri invasion never occours. The Avengers do not form as a result, and each go their seperate ways.
The Hulk remains in India as a Doctor.
Captain America, Hawkeye, and Black Widow continue to work with Shield. It is eventually unmasked as Hydra, and the events of Civil War unfold.
Iron Man remains a superhero, but without the PTSD. He never creates Ultron as a result.
Thor and Loki return to Asgard safely. Loki is not imprisoned, so he can't point the Dark Elves to Thor's Mother. Asgard remains much stronger as a result.
The Rippling Effects:
Eventually, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Captain America discover the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. The two attempt to plot revenge against Tony Stark, and eventually track down and kill him. (He would be overpowered without help from the avengers!)
Back on Asgard, Odin never gets sent down to Earth, and as a result, survives and confronts Hella with Thor and Loki. Hella is defeated and Asgard still stands.
Due to the Destruction of Sokovia never occouring, the Avengers are not placed under treaty. Captain America is not a criminal, and he eventually tracks down and imprisons the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
At some point, Captain America and Hella are killed by the Collector. We see their Shield and their Crown in his space station.
In Conclusion For Earth:
The Avengers don't form, and as a result Earth is vastly unprepared for any attack emerging from the cosmos. Asgard is very strong, with Thor and Loki Co-Ruling it and maintaining order. Iron Man and Captain America are dead, the Hulk is still in exile, and Black Widow / Hawkeye are really the only ones maintaining order.
Eventually, Ego goes to collect Peter Quill and he gets him involved in his planetary expansion mission. Eventually, Ego will try to take over Earth, and Yondu, Black Panther, Thanos, The Ravagers, and Killmonger will need to team up with each other to try and defeat Ego. If they can do it is unknown...
Sounds like bullshit corporate speak. Wonder if marvel is still salty with his outspoken comments after Gunn was fired.
What If…? executive producer Brad Winderbaum (Item 47) recently spoke to Variety about Bautista’s absence and the difficulty of casting for the series.
“It’s my understanding that everybody was asked in some way, shape or form, either through their agents or directly,” Winderbaum told Variety. “I don’t know really what happened behind the scenes there, but certainly, we would have loved for him to be in the show. So there’s probably some miscommunication somewhere.”
SIAP. He said he was not asked to be in it.
Crazy Hank Pym is a dick
Wasn’t a huge fan of that one. Interesting concept but execution was off
The Coulson stuff was kinda wack
Was the implication that Hank was being influenced by Loki?
I liked that one way better than the first two.
Eh. What was the choice that changed everything? Hope becoming an agent? Feels like they picked a bad guy and just worked backwards from there.
Y’all need to educate yourselves on Hank. He’s a poet genius that wants nothing more then to spend his life peacefully studying ants but also will beat the shit out of his wife for talking back. The “what if” was Fury recruiting Hope or vice versa. Losing Hope would cause Pym to snap and he could for sure infiltrate Fury’s records and kill the Avengers the way he did. Good concept.
I like that episode
that was the best episode yet
I would destroy the world for Rachel McAdams too
that was good
That seemed like a preview for MoM
I probably shouldn't waste too many brain cells on this, but I always thought this show took place in the MCU universe and then there was some event that splintered the timeline and spawned new events.
in this episode I didn't notice anything that led to it being a different universe and then they keep referring to Christine dying as being an absolute point in the timeline. but she didn't die in the MCU so how could it be an absolute point?
time travel confuses the shit out of me.
so the show shifted from "hey here's the event that changed everything" to - ok we're starting an episode in a different universe.
I thought there was supposed to be some catalyst that took us from the MCU into the multiverse but I guess not for everything.
the show has always been a different universe for every episode
That. Was. Incredible.
Benedict, Tilda, Rachel. All great. Replaying it instantly but honestly one of my favorite pieces of marvel content ever.
The splitter was his relationship with Christine rather than a friendship.
Or just not set in a universe at all, except for being marvel characters because DC would screw this up and make it about flash and time travel.
Marvel does zombieland
That was fun.
So Pym has been to blame for two episodes and Strange for another. Spidey sporting the cape…
seems like all a setup of what to expect in DS2, NWH and Quantumania
Thought that one was a step backwards but definitely fun
DYK Robert Kirkman, co-creator of the Walking Dead, wrote the Marvel Zombie comics
Zombie episode was the best one by far.
What a shit tiktok account to follow
T'Challa's speech... I'm not crying, you're crying.
This was a fantastic episode. Way better to me than the Strange episode. Love the follow-up to Wandavision.
Zombies was cool
Black panther episode is like a bad fanfic
Kilmonger ep is straight fire!
So fucking great.
Well this is confusing
Eh it felt like a step back but trying to do the what if thing using just MCU characters. It wasn't terrible but felt like more of a stretch than the others.
I enjoyed it.
seems like it is set up for a part 2, right?
Killmonger will always be the one true king
Just watched the Dr Strange episode. That was awesome. Such a good episode and best one yet imo
I’ve missed it twice now. What happened to T’Challa in this episode?
Killmonger killed him with a stark weapon then also killed Rhodes
Alright, need to rewatch without any edibles first
