Why are we handing Tua the Miami starting job again?

He definitely seems to have regressed during the season. Arm doesn't seem like what it was. Wonder how much the hip affects that.

This is laughable. The Dolphins are terrible on offense. The Fitzpatrick argument is moot - he was averaging 7/attempt and slinging interceptions. Also, if you want to say that the dolphins were better off with a 15-year veteran than a rookie with no real offseason coming off a hip injury and not expected to play this year then go ahead. And they have been better in spots with Fitzpatrick. But the Tua arm/future comments are hilarious to me. Everyone expects him to be Hebert without an OL or anything resembling Allen, Williams, or Henry.

Tua doesn't have a canon for sure but it's good enough. If he fails it won't be because of arm strength.

Right now the kid is just pressing because he's consistently being put in bad spots by playcalling/drops/just a general lack of offensive talent. I can't say if he's gonna be great or not but it wouldn't surprise me to see him turn in a much better second year.

Hey if I’m still doing this two years from now feel free to call me wrong. But given the shape of the Dolphins offense and the rest of 2020 I think I’m being pretty reasonable.

It’s a risky move for a GM/Coach to draft a second QB in two seasons which is why I think it’s not going to happen

at the same time you don’t fall ass backwards on 1.3 and on paper the deepest QB class in years

I think jury is out bc that team stinks on offense

True, but I still think you take the QB until you hit on one..Cowboys in '89 took Aikman #1 then selected Steve Walsh in the supplemental draft #2 overall

Tua may end up being ass but moving on after 10 games makes no sense to me. If that's the time frame you're going to give a QB, you're going to be drafting a new one just about every year. Very few come in and are good as rookies.

Unfortunately Tua is getting judged vs Borrow and Herbert as unfair and dumb as it is. Those two looked the part, Tua looked like ass and got worse over the course of the season.

Tua and Burrow had very similar numbers. Burrow threw it a lot more but completion % and YPA were similar. Tua flashed some solid games but the biggest knock on him is how he ended the season. A couple really bad games. Herbert was definitely better than both though.

Trending down isnt a good sign. Should be getting better over the course of your rookie year with NFL coaching.

young qbs throw picks because they get fooled by coverage. or take sacks because they don't know to get rid of the ball quickly enough and don't have a feel for the NFL pocket and NFL pass rushers. young qbs are inconsistent, generally.

i get that miami's oc hadn't been in football in a while. i get that miami's skill position guys are subpar. and that tua had been hurt and there wasn't a preseason/offseason. but i just thought tua looked bad. he wasn't panicked and he didn't throw a lot of picks. he just looked like he couldn't make nfl throws.'

if Tua this year was entering the draft (so after most of the year starting for Miami), do you think he's still going top 5? Do you think he'd be a first rounder? I don't.

I just read his piece about why the Dolphins should draft Smitty at No. 3 overall, and while I agree with the sentiment, the article itself is rife with lines that send the deepest of douche chills rippling through the body.

1.3 is a requirement to give up for Watson. 1.18 I’d argue is not
