I saw them last year. I was not impressed at all. Generic rock with rehearsed jokes. Grohl is somewhat annoying live but he's still an awesome person.
The entire show he was doing the generic 1980s high pitched rocker voice "whose happy to be at a fucking rock show!!!!!!"
Ryley seems like a little bitch which, to be fair, was written in stone the day his parents named him Ryley
seems like a cool guy. not a big Foo Fighters fan at all, but that first album was great. ray gun much better than colour and the shape.
I kinda think that's just him being him. I've only seen them live once, but it looks to me like most of their shows from the past 10 years or so are very similar. I suppose it's hard to add variety when everyone wants to hear the same 10 songs every show though. I could do without Hawkins doing Queen covers.
Fuck the hate. Saw them as a big Nirvana fan at 21 years old at a small club venue in Cincinnati called Bogart's. Went with my then girlfriend, now wife of 20 years. We've been fans since, but didn't see them again until they returned to Cincy for the first time in 17. It was worth the wait. Then again last year at Bourbon and Beyond in Louisville - after which we promised our teenage boys (15 and 13) that one day they'd see them. Today we bought the tickets to keep our promise. They're pumped and I can't fucking wait.
Because he is really really good and has been for a long time. And he has tons of fans and he sells a lot of records
jfc Hawkins quotes Roger Taylor as one of his earliest and largest influences. Heaven forbid he pay homage during live shows occasionally.
not familiar with all of their music videos but they did one where they had a girl with a huge ass twerk during the huge guitar solo
1. The Colour and the Shape 2. Foo Fighters 3. There is Nothing Left to Lose 4. Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace 5. One by One 6. In Your Honor 7. Wasting Light 8. Sonic Highways 9. Concrete and Gold The last two albums have been pretty bad. Hopefully this new album goes back to some of their older stylings. There’s been some great unreleased stuff/covers on the 4-5 song EP’s they’ve been releasing.
to be specific I wish he'd at least mix it up a bit. I feel like he's been doing the same exact thing for 10 years. daaaaay-o! eh oh! day dum! da da da da da da doh! led-oh! led-oh! leeeeeeed oh! Daaaave Grohl! Dave Grohl! He hates when I do that!!! Followed by Under Pressure. Surly as a big Roger Taylor fan, Queen has a few other songs he could do. I say this all as a big Foo Fighters fan
I know a kid that got to get on stage with them and perform "Under Pressure" on drums. He never shut the fuck about it.
As a whole those last 2 albums aren't great, but still have a couple good songs on them. what have they recently released? Just 01999925?
I just revised the track listing and kind of feel like I should have ranked it above In Your Honor. Maybe even One by One.
FUCK. I've got tickets for the OKC one but probably won't be with my current client in December - was really going to enjoy them footing the travel bill.
