I’ve been there. I enjoyed it.
Was also recommended by the guy who sells me wine from b cellars
What’s the consensus on concrete vats? Bought a bottle of Zuccardi concreto Malbec
I love it. The method adds such great texture without the over abundance of oak. I often prefer this style, especially if doing a horizontal tasting. Unfortunately it's not the style a lot of people are used to or want, yet.
Was the guy that gave you those recs a burly looking dude with a short buzzcut?
I don’t remember him being burly but he did have a close cropped haircut. The most unique thing I remember about hi was he was from Louisiana and went to LSU.
Just did an inventory of my wine storage unit in anticipation of insuring it soon
What occasion do you think you're breaking out some of the opus - We do have Valentines day coming up....
Do you use CellarTracker?
Gallant Knight - what wine fridge are you rocking with. I couldn't hold that amount at my home if I wanted to.
I've also never had a need for it due to being in hospitality since I was about 20 - this is just a sheer curiosity question.
So I have a 120 bottle wine fridge at my place and then I also have a 4x4x4 space at a wine storage place in Houston and I built some stoarge racks that can hold like ~150 bottles and 20 magnums
Yeah I’m ShermFirm on there
still have some other stuff I need to input
does anyone have an allocation from realm? they aren't letting me buy any of the good stuff
Specifically which ones ?
beckstoffer bourn and to kalon
Their owner was in the Air Force so maybe he’s a Gunner.
Found 2017 houyi
2017 moonracer both 281
Other 2 in transit
To kalon 401
Yes - just let me know what all you want.
Thanks man I’m going to look closer tomorrow
Del Blotto....er....Del Dotto tonight. Whew. Good juice but so much alcohol.
We recently crossed the platinum membership threshold for Del Dotto (purchase $7500 in a year) mainly by buying it when we were drunk. Love me some Cave Blend though.
We have made the mistake of not making the Del Dotto cave tour the last of our day and show up blitzed to the next winery. I end up buying a bunch of wine at the other one to bribe them for our behavior.
Yeah we made sure it was the last tour of the day and then went to Gott's, hence my drunk Gott's post above. Great, great tour if you're near St Helena. Had the 14 Piazza last night and it is still so hot. Could easily wait another year or two on the rest of our bottles. Love the Cave Blend too and the Sangiovese is great too.
5 course meal. 4 wines (none for dessert)
Ordered from B Cellars for the first time last week. They reached out this week and offered a free tasting for two as well as 20% off my next order. Plus Amex currently has an offer for $75 off for them. Needless to say I have a whole nother case of Beckstoffer Heritage shit coming.
B cellars is the absolute tits
what all did you get
Already had 3 BTK and 3 Dr Crane Cab Sauv on the way. Added another 3 of each plus 2 Missouri Hopper 2018, 2 Georges III 2017, and 2 Dr Crane Cab Franc
Nice good selections
the bourn is my favorite
Spending the weekend in Steamboat Springs, so proper essentials were secured.
That is a lot of Bottles open at one time.
We did a Chardonnay blind tasting with lunch and the BDX/Burg/Hiyu were with dinner last night. WOTW so far is pretty clearly the Caroline Morey. Incredible tension for the vintage and village.
For me Red Wine + altitude = horrible sleep
By far my favorite Austrian producer for Riesling in particular.
Ended up picking out my cheapest cab and say to myself I have a problem
Found 2018 Rochioli Estate RRV Pinot at total wine for about what you can get from the website. Combined with rewards and mix 6 got a great deal.
Really, really nice after 4 hours just popping the cork. Id say all of the CT notes hit the nail on the head for me. Wish I would have bought more.
I’m 28 bottles away from needing another storage unit

Wife is going to the spa on Saturday morning at the hotel.
Didn't want to be rushed at the wine tours/tastings so decided to keep it simple.
You can do more tastings than that and not feel rushed.
Great lineup, though.
my understanding is that they are basically rolling out the red carpet for us at b cellars. i've probably bought like 120 bottes from them over the last year and my brother in law works with a guy who happens to be a minority owner there.
because of wife's spa day we were sort of limited to afternoon
You ought to grab lunch at Farmstead on Friday. It's close to both Continuum and B Cellars and really good.
awesome thanks for the rec i will look into that
anywhere for saturday dinner? purposely left that open but now i think i may want to try to get a reservation
I loved Mustards Grill. It's pretty low-key, but the porkchop is one of my favorite things I've ever eaten.
Been to Farmstead. Pulled Pork sandwich was good and a nice change of pace from the decadent meals we were having.
The restaurant at Auberge has a good prix fixe lunch menu and amazing views if you get a seat on the terrace. (Edit: it’s about 10 mins from Continuum)
Kenzo is a pretty good fancy dinner, 2 star Japanese place in downtown Napa. They have their own vineyard too
The single best restaurant I went to in the last two years was Valley bar + bottle on the Sonoma square. A bunch of Anthill Farms, Scribe, etc. alums and the wine list is great. Get the chicken, get the eggs, and sit in the backyard.
Booked Yountville in August
staying at North Block again, pretty excited! Will be back in this thread. Using those pandemic points- flights and rental car are covered. Just had to pay for the hotel
I really like Zuzu, a tapas place.
