Put the game back on my ps5. Booted it up and now it’s updating with a 42.15 GB update, is that the next gen upgrade downloading?
Going to let it update and will go check but earlier the store was saying $29.99. Didn’t see an option to upgrade just to purchase the complete edition
So before I downloaded the upgrade there was a bunch of add ons like new quests and finisher animations. After the ups grade I only see blood and win and heart of stone. Did those other free downloads just get incorporated into the next gen upgrade?
I just finished a play through but if there’s new missions I may have to start over. Is it new new or did they just include the DLCs?
The one I came across that's new is for the Witcher armor from the show. It's at the Devil's Pit in Belen. Close to where you start the game when you get to Velen.
Killed the Griffin for the first time last night. Really excited to get on for a couple hours after the fam goes to bed. I killed a shit ton of pigs to make some early game gold and could not stop giggling at the thought of Vesimir hanging out in the town while I murder pigs and meditate for days on end. Made some good scratch and have a lot of food now though. Also have both serpent swords at level 3. I’m committed to finishing the game this time.
Just slay and loot. I have everything I’ve needed for crafting by walking the map and killing everything or knocking out the question marks. I’m around 17 right now and besides dismantling some gear for stuff, haven’t bought anything.
Can’t get into Gwent, but these graphics are looking amazing to me. Some of the landscape/sceneries look like a brand new game
It's really surprising how good it looks now. I'm completely sucked in again. For like the 10th time.
First on the bang bus: Kiera And I managed to not have to kill her this time. That was my lone miss first time through.
I finally did this on my last play through. Somehow usually had to fight her or she would just leave without being romanced. Sad Witcher.
Gwent is only for distinguished gentlemen, so not surprising a bunch of you cro magnons don’t like it.
Skipping on Gwent is just bad. Means you'll miss out on the high stakes tourney quest in Novigrad. Plus Gwent is just straight up awesome. I really enjoy that "Reardon Manor" quest that you get from the old woman in Lindenvale. If you simulate The Witcher 2 save and choose the right dialogue options, that quest turns into a meet up with Letho, and you go on this crazy revenge mission where Geralt and Letho murk a bunch of fools. Also there is an entrance to a basement that is hard to find, right behind the barn of Reardon Manor. If you go down there, you can find a brick wall you can Aard. What you find sheds light on what happened between the old woman's future husband and her own brother. I overlooked it the first couple of playthroughs.
I had a mod that allowed me to auto win Gwent on PC so I could still do the quests that were blocked behind it.
One trick I've learned is conceding early, but making the AI burn a few cards on the 1st round. The AI then passes ridiculously quickly on the second round, so you can win that round with very little commitment. Then you can use the majority of cards on the 3rd to stomp them. Doesn't always work, but 60% of the time, it works everytime.
The computer always seems to have whatever weather cards it needs in its hand to win. I have 2 weather effect cards, they have clear skies. I have a clear skies in my hand they use 0 weather effects but if I don’t they use 2 per round.
Play as Northern Realms and keep the Leader card that clears weather. Use it late in the round when you’re ready to crush the NPCs spirit.
I don’t play with any weather cards. Clear or cause weather. Never been an issue when you play with that Leader card.
Maybe so but I’ve tried them all and only play with the clear weather leader. I keep two horns in my deck just in case though.
