Do UNC guys have a good feel on Matt Coleman? We've been on him since he was an 8th grader and I've never seen our staff so infatuated with a kid. Sense is if Carolina were to offer, he'd be theirs, but that they wont offer. Shaka and Texas are the other major players. I think we end up losing him because he wants more up-tempo. We're just hyper-focused on a few guys in 2017 because we're only anticipating one open scholarship. I think he's our #1 (discounting longshot Michael Porter).
1Nation Elite Sports@1NationORG Michigan State fans it's your turn! 2016 Josh Jackson is headed to East Lansing for his last official visit this weekend! #SpartyOn
Its probably down to KU & Baylor for Ferguson, but who knows. Why anyone with NBA aspirations would go to Baylor is beyond me. Its not really any better than Alabama imo.
I'd be legitimately concerned about him getting through the ncaa clearinghouse after Prime Prep was shut down
Maybe he will choose Baylor bc NCAA has a serious fucking hardon for KU when it comes to clearing players.
Rawle Alkins to Arizona. Nice class with Markanen, Simmons, and Alkins. Time to close Josh Jackson and I guess Miller is getting in on Ferguson who he coached on the U19 team and the Turkish player Omer Yurtseven too. Fun way to try and close the class.
Saw Alkins in person when he was a sophomore play against Montverde when they were stupid loaded and he was the best player in that game. He blew up after that weekend and his ranking shot up and offers started coming from everyone. Really, really like him as a player. He's a prototypical NY guard
He fell off the map with the local teams when he moved to Raleigh, which sounds backwards I realize. Had a huge falling out with his HS and didn't even finish the season. Not sure there isn't a red flag with the kid.
Yeah, we never put much stock into him until the last few months and even then he never would commit to a damn official visit. When he finally did last wknd it made MSU fans feel even better.
Well this March gets better supposedly Jackson is announcing tonight and it will be Kansas. Mom didn't want him returning to Michigan and couldn't convince her. Doesn't sound like a McDowell situation will occur either.
Maybe not. Sounds like the meeting of the minds didn't go too well and Jackson still pushing to go to MSU. Hopefully this goes the way Malik went in football and not Swanigan. I won't get my hopes up that it is the former until he actually announces for MSU but there is a sliver of hope he doesn't end up at KU.
And sounds like the drama has finally subsided and he is announcing for Kansas tomorrow whenever he puts it on Twitter. Some hope on the end of MSU that there will be signing drama but with his mom supposedly anti MSU I would doubt that. Congrats Kansas getting a helluva player if true.
Still think it is Jackson to KU then Ferguson to Arizona as of now. Now just a matter if Jackson actually shows up or ends up in China this Fall.
From what we heard only option for Jackson with regard to China would be if he announced for MSU and his mom wouldn't sign his LOI ultimately. Still think it is Kansas but some rumors are it won't be over until the LOI is signed as he is pretty adament about wanting to go to MSU (Don't really buy that but I guess we shall see). Mother however is adament in the opposite direction.
Jackson is set up a lot better for success then Wiggins was. We had pretty awful guard play and Wiggins had to create pretty much every shot for himself. Graham and Mason (especially how great Graham played down the stretch) should free up a lot of lanes or Jackson to drive or shoot. We could also put him at the 4 and play small ball with Svi in the lineup which would be really fun/fast team.
Ferguson to Arizona. Still disappointed by what went happened with Jackson but as a consolation prize it isn't the worst thing in the world I guess.
It is revisionist history at this point but how many Arizona guys felt good about his recruitment? Seemed like a KU/MSU battle for the past couple of months with Arizona being an afterthought even with Miller's connection.
Felt fine up until the last month or so when the momentum really switched. I feel like Nike shit the bed on this one.
Well his mom is supposedly pulling $80K from UA (works for them in some capacity) so her alliances are pretty well positioned for Jackson's shoe deal. Probably thought Adidas would jeopardize that least.
Bolden announcing soon between UK and Duke. Common thought had Duke leading, but something happened (guess info following Cal's meeting with Bolden on Tuesday) that has UK insiders confident/predicting a UK commitment soon. UK and Duke both already have super classes, but goddamn, Duke would be so good with Bolden, so this would be a win for college basketball. You're welcome, guys!
