any Fi guys connected to, or tried to connect to, US Cellular yet? I've used the dialer code but it says "invalid MCC/MNC: DAN". project fi app has been updated too.
None of my video apps would work. So mlb.tv, fsgo, hbogo would all crash when I'd try to play a video. I dealt with that but then it got to where it was freezing on my lock screen and I'd have no choice but to restart.
Redownloaded the beta with the 4th version being released. Skype works now. The other problem I had with alarms seems to have disappeared, or is at least not annoying now. Still shows two alarm icons at the top sometimes but I don't really care much about that. Don't really try to watch too much video outside of an occasional YouTube video so don't know much about that, but I can confirm Netflix works and Hulu doesn't. All I get is a black screen when i go to watch something on Hulu.
From what I understand, they're rolling out the profiles slowly and you haven't gotten that yet. Rumor is you can jack shit up by forcing it to USC before you have the profile. I don't know if that's true though.
Oh fuck, new Nexus line is so sexy. This is both the bigger and smaller one, although it's an unofficial rendering. http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...us-phones-sailfish-and-marlin-will-look-like/
Not really a fan of the big glossy part on the back. I like the minimal design, but it's kinda generic and the top and bottom bezel is awfully big for not having front-facing speakers.
I don't think 6" has much chance of happening, but nobody has actually confirmed sizes yet have they? You can keep praying. You take that back!
I was worried about the size of the 6p but now I love it and can't go back. Typing on a little iphone or something small like that is completely miserable.
Not sure where to put this so here it is: http://www.cnet.com/news/verizon-to...ore-data/?ftag=COS-05-10-aa0a&linkId=26227296
I like my 6P too, I could stand for the bezels on the top and bottom to be a bit smaller and weight a little less though. Although the first one sucked once it refused to turn on, Huawei took a damn month to send me another one so their customer service is pretty shitty in my opinion.
The nexus 6 is just a hair too large to effectively use one handed... I think a 5.5 would be perfect for me.
Android police has the Marlin (htcs larger of the two upcoming Nexus phones at 5.5", right between the 5x(5.2") and that 6p (5.7") and smaller than the 6 (6"). The sailfish is pegged at 5.0" which is the same size as the 2013 Nexus 5.
Google doc where I've dropped in new specs vs known specs from sailfish and Marlin. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...mFqv2nlFcjSDsopZjes9c51OEI/edit?usp=drive_web
Kinda appears that other than looks and software, things have started to plateau with these. I still have the 6 and I'm thinking about getting the 6p instead of either new one.
and really interesting is that they've been going backwards in terms of power since the N6. The 6p has a lower clock speed than the N5!
I thought there needed to be more powerful to accommodate daydream? I'm really looking forward to that btw
You guys are looking at the wrong metrics though, all that really matters would be benchmark tests and battery life.
FYI daydream is essentially a screensaver, which is rarely rarely used. smartphones have reached the tipping point in terms of power. generally much more progress to be made in optimization and smart power usage, as opposed to raw total output, which you can see in the specs of phones these days fsck~ in with the sarcasm. not sure a passive reader would know that. Sadly many people think its as simple as a benchmark score.
daydream was previously the name for docking/screensavers (going back multiple years, see snippet below). Android 4.2 "Daydream" mode Posted: 14 Nov 2012, 14:23, by Michael H.Tags: Articles+ Android+ Software updates+ Feature: Android 4.2 One of the new features of Android 4.2 that hasn't gotten much mention recently is the new "Daydream" mode. It hasn't gotten much play because unlike the other major updates like the gesture keyboard, Daydream mode is a flashy extra, but it is quite a nice one. If you've gotten the Android 4.2 update, you'll find Daydream kind of hidden in Settings>Display>Daydream. It is essentially a screensaver, although it will only turn on under certain conditions. You can set your Android device to start Daydreaming either when the device is docked, when it is charging, or both. As the Daydream mode, users can choose between having the device display the clock, shifting colors, Google Currents headlines, or photos. I just googled it and realized they are using it for the VR platform now (i am excite).
Trying to reinstall public and I've been stuck on the 4 circles startup screen for about an hour. Starting to get worried.
If my phone rebooting seems takes more than like a minute or two I start getting worried. Fucked up many a phone from my days of rooting and what not, but luckily I have always been able to fix it. I don't even bother with it anymore nowadays since stock Android has taken so many leaps and bounds in the last couple years. Although if I hold on to my 6P long enough for Google to stop supporting it I'll likely root it so I can get more OS updates. But if I'm honest, probably a pretty slim chance I hold on to it for that long given my history.
This is what I get when I try to check alerts And whenever I click on anything, it takes me back to this page. I'm stuck in time.
