fish there is a jack in the box off the 210 near the rose bowl. Do you happen to know either the address or what street it is on?
No meeting up with some people before a game and needed to get the address. I know you run around there so I thought you might know the address.
This is the first pair of shoes I bought strictly of comfort. I think they're ugly, but as I get older most shoes look like shit in my opinion.
Do we tolerate getting the shits 4 miles into your long run like happened to me tonight? Ugh that sucked. Ran 5 miles. Hunted for bathroom. Was almost to a point of trying to trespass to get to a portapotty at a construction site. Felt dehydrated as hell. Ran another 2mi back to my car and went home.
Just picked up Brooks Adrenaline 15s last week. Like them so far. 5.5 at 10:25 around a lake. Great evening. I felt like a damned runner.
Drunk. Very happy Indidn't bring my running shoes and have expectations of running in 4 hours. Because I'm in no shape to be out in public, let alone exercising
I did 17 miles last night. Ran it around 3 hours at about 10:45 a mile. Started out slowly and built up my pace. I was supposed to run 17 miles last week. Went out mid morning, but mentally I was not in it. It was hotter than expected, I didn't bring enough water and unfortunately I quit 11 miles in. I was pissed that I quit, but I was dying out there. Last night was much better. Temp was perfect, mid 50s, and I brought out enough water and food to get me through. My cardio was fine, I could have ran another 10 miles no problem, but my legs were another story. At about 11 miles in I started feeling it. Calf's and ankles were killing me at the end, but surprisingly I feel pretty good today. 17 miles was tough, but I still have a long way to go. Crazy to think I would have to run another 9 miles on top of that to complete the Marathon. I'm not there yet, but I feel I'm progressing and training in the right direction.
I am not one of those put a sticker on my car or (other than joking around on here) constantly talking about running marathons, but fuck anyone who thinks running 26.2 miles is nothing.
Fuck it. I am one of those - of the 13.1 variety. For exactly the reason you said. 13.1 isn't nearly as hard as 26.2, but it's hard enough that most never even consider trying it.
I like running 2 miles at a time. Fuck doing 10x that distance plus another 6.2 miles on top of that. But much respect to those that do. I think doing a 1/2 is probably the farthest I'd go.
I'll never do the sticker thing, but I feel like this is a safe place to just openly talk about our experiences. Please let me know if I'm am rambling on too much about the marathon, I don't want to be that guy.
Oh you're not and I am not trying to say you were. I was just agreeing with you. After IMO the 16 mile mark it is a whole new world.
I feel like I could probably run a 100 mile race right now if it was in the mid 50's. Can't wait for those temps
Love setting segment records when I go into new areas 0.6mi Avg Grade4% Lowest Elev323ft Highest Elev474ft Elev Difference152ft at 6:52/mile pace, my legs were rekt after that Hopefully I rustled the former leader been in Raleigh this week running
Knowing what went into my first half and outside of my wife, not having many people close who are into running, I enjoy reading about the experiences here. From two miles to 26.2 or more....ramble on. BTW, anybody tried the Simple Hydration bottle? I just bought one this week and used it last night. It worked well for me. Of course today on FB I see a 50% off code good only through this weekend. Might have to pick up an extra. Though I bought mine through Amazon Prime so with the shipping cost of buying through the site, I only spent about $3 more than if I'd waited for the code. www.simplehydration.com
Noticed a tightness in my left calf on Wednesday near the end of my run, a little more noticeable yesterday, and today it kicked in earlier in the run and felt really tight. Leaving for Phoenix tomorrow morning for 5 days and plan on getting my miles in before I go but I may just skip any vacation runs/hiking to let it rest up.
Nothing wrong with rest. Once or twice a year I'll take full week off from running, and I believe my body thanks me for it.
I feel the exact same way. I have been very close to the vest about my running, never posting stuff on social media. It has been nice reading this thread and hearing everyone's running stories, ups, downs and everything in-between. It is nice to be able to have a place to open up about your experiences, and have other like minded people on this subject do the samething. We can learn from each other, and encourage each other because one day we will all wake up and realize we are 80 years old and we just can't run anymore.
Can I join your clan? Not in good enough shape yet to run the whole 6 mile trail I go to most days but running about 4-4.5 of it and do it in around 70 minutes. Been doing distance swim races the last couple years, want to do a tri next year.
16 mile long run this morning. 40000% humidity and no breeze. Drenched. First 9 miles @ 10:00/mi pace. Last 7 miles @ 8:52/mi pace. Felt pretty good.
10 miles this morning. Slow but had some great weather. About to head down to Auburn. Going to need a lot of Caffeine to keep me going today.
Heel is starting to feel a bit tender. Taking two days off to see if that helps. Injuries are stupid and I hate them.
I had to take my puppy to the vet at 8 this morning so had to get out early. Did 5.6 in 44:57 at 6:30 this morning. Did a sub 8 min mile which was mile 5 so pretty happy about that. Light run on Thursday (3.2 miles) and light gym workout yesterday had me feeling good this am. Now time to veg in front of my tv for the rest of the day and not feel any guilt.
I'm heading to Baton Rouge in about an hour for the LSU game at 6. Caffine pill already in my pocket.
My feet used to ache bad after my runs but since buying new shoes my feet and legs feel much better. I didn't realize how worn out my shoes were until I had new ones
Ran 3 today in the beautiful BA weather. Also, my auto pause fucked up so it looks like I ran it in 11 minutes. I'm a world record holder.
That's what I'm hoping this is. I've put about 300 miles on these ones and think it's time for a new pair.
Sounds like that's the case. I tend to have two pairs at a time. $360 for running shoes seems like a lot until you realize how important they are
