If luxury to you is a nice interior and reliability, yes, probably a Lexus. If luxury is performance, not a Lexus.
TY Im leaning Lexus since BMW 3 series in my price range have bad ratings Im more into reliability / interior, that kinda stuff, so lexus seems right. want to have this car for a while (5 years minimum)
You are def a Lexus guy. If you like to work on cars, go with German. They make sense, but the parts (and especially cost of computer related parts) will blow your mind (I'm about $4000 in this year on repairs on my 2011 Mercedes, and it's a lot better than BMW and Audi from that time. Also, it'd be a few $1000 higher if I couldn't have diagnosed things, etc.) Oddly, BMWs have gotten great reliability ratings over the past 3-4 years. So if your budget allows that, do it. Also, you should buy an Acura instead of a Lexus (mostly because I own a Toyota now and wish I'd never sold my Honda). The joke is that an Acura is a Honda with all the screws tightened.
Moreso it's the BMW B58 engine that's highly rated; in the X7 as well, but also reliable enough that Toyota put it in its Supra GR. Outstanding power unit.
I've flipped a couple of cars on the side recently to make some extra cash, anyways my mother is selling her 2013 honda pilot 2w EX-L and figured I'd snag it and maybe make 3k-5k in a month since it's family. -One owner -No accidents/problems Is $7500 an insult? I'd welcome any thoughts and will answer any questions needed. Carvana says they'll pick it up for 8k, but it sells for 14.5-15.5k at Carmax/used dealerships.
“Hey ma, really appreciate you giving birth to me, I’d like to take advantage of you and make some money.”
No, just a price that leaves some room for profit. The dealership only offered 8.5k, so I'm not trying to rip off/low ball my own mother. I've been on this forum since 2010 (3 names over the years i think), and when people/friends/wife always ask why I never post it's because of these responses. Maybe i could learn to communicate a little better but damn.... So 99.99% of the time I just lurk, it sucks because I'm a lot like the rest of you and most of the people seem like good, genuine, thoughtful souls. I've got tons of knowledge I could share about lots of subjects and even more I could learn from posters on here. If you were privy to my family experiences and parents finances, plus the absolute bullshit I've been through with her since my father died 10 yrs ago you'd understand. My sister said if my Mom had done1/2 the things to her that she's done to me she would never speak to her again. Also I would donate $20/year if you guys would just treat me like everyone else here and have access to the donor board. This is my favorite "message board" of all time. Guess I'll go back to lurking...
I think I speak for everyone when I say you should be publicly flogged for ripping off your mother instead of just telling her to demand more
Feels like this storyline has some legs. Let's see where it goes. bowser90 all the copious details, please.
Own a 2013 Toyota Avalon hybrid that I enjoy, bought it for 26k in 2016 when it had 42k miles It now has 145k miles, regular maintenance, never had one issue until recently with an 02 sensor. Put new tires on it a year ago. Hybrid battery needs replaced but it still gets 30mpg easily. Interior is in good enough shape, some cracks in leather etc that might bring down the trade in value but bothers me none. Some cosmetic things like new rims and a rear bumper replacement too. Does anyone have any experience getting a hybrid to the 250k mile mark after replacing the battery? Or any opinions? The last thing I would want to do is put in 5-10k into this thing and it crap out in the next few years. I am not a car guy and value reliability and comfort over everything. Unfortunately the full size sedan class is being killed by most manufacturers. I was mildly intrigued with the Toyota Crown but checked it out at the Chicago auto show last week and I think it’s probably a dud and won’t sell well.
Might be making an offer on this... Spoiler https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for...nsmissionCode=AUT&zip=98107&clickType=listing That mileage + that year model is pretty amazing. They're getting back to me with rates right now. It has a leveling kit, not a lift -- does this effect gas mileage?
I'd say minimal effect, but yes it probably does decrease by 1-2mpg. Probably affect the ride more so than gas mileage. Nice looking truck for sure.
to me, this seems like a massive overreaction to what stinky posted to me. Feel free to dish on your mom
I've never had a leveling kit on any of my trucks, but that's what I hear. My current truck has a factory lift kit on it, but it's only 2" so nothing crazy. Just test drive it and see how it feels. Edit: and/or go ask in the truck thread.
I've been shopping around all night, and am seeing only like 6.5%-7.5% in Washington and Oregon. Not seeing anything below 6, unfortunately. Can you apply anywhere in the nation, regardless of where the car is?
The Toyota Crown SUV/wagon coming out later this year will probably sell better. However, the upside of the Crown being an overpriced, weird car in the dying larger sedan segment is that it's one of the few Toyota products that actually depreciates. I recently got a pretty good deal on a one year old Crown and have been quite happy. The car is quiet, comfortable and efficient. I also like the higher seating position compared to most sedans.
I'm an impulsive guy, but this truck seems super legit. 55k miles, $3,500 below KBB value, clean carfax, easy drive from WA. Could buy it now and then pick it up in May. I've been looking at Tacomas for months and haven't seen anything at this price point with that low mileage. aand it looks dope AF and will make my dick look huge
Did someone really say "if you like working on cars, go German " That's something nobody has ever said ever
I have bought new without a test drive(or ever even seeing the vehicle) but never used. Also for a modified truck like the one you are looking at, I would want to hire an independent mechanic to check it out. Modifications can vary greatly in quality and all suspension modifications change the way the truck was designed to drive.
If you've ever driven a tacoma before, you know what you're getting into. Unless you're some sort of mechanical savant, you wouldn't be able to find some sort of hidden problem on a test drive of the one you actually want to buy anyway.
I've driven Tacomas before, not worried there. The only hold-up is the fact that it has a leveling kit. Might call a local mechanic on Monday to get it checked out, maybe throw him $50 or something to take it on a test drive. The salesman is pretty annoyed with me because I'm in Mexico and we're both having to jump through some hoops to make it happen. But, I'm probably paying cash so fuck 'em.
