It comes on tv all the time now. I know it’s not the same but I see it on most weekends when I’m scrolling.
finally saw The Marvels. generally exceeded my expectations. anything involving Kamala's family or the kittens got a laugh or smile out of me.
I started it on a flight, but based on the 1st half, I dont really feel compelled to finish. Should I?
There were parts of that that were good, parts that felt like the just right amount of Taika humor that Ragnarok hit...and then too many moments of "wacky" is the right word. The internet loves to hate women in Marvel movies but I didn't hate the idea of bringing Jane back. I actually like the story of Lady Thor, in theory. They just executed it reeeeally poorly. And drastically undersold Bale as a villain.
the movie needed more Gorr killing gods in the first half. Even just fifteen minutes added would have made a huge difference. The biggest problem was the movie wasn't balanced right. The second half lacked stakes because the first half was rushed.
And no matter how many times I've watched the last 10 minutes on youtube, it still makes so little sense. Edit: Jane's ending, I mean
in the context of the previous movie, you could make a case love & thunder was the biggest flop in marvel history I hated it
Probably the most excited I was for a MCU movie outside of maybe End Game. No way anyone could have convinced me that thing wouldn't be Ragnarok-tier until the reviews started trickling in. I tried for a while to talk myself into it, but it's honestly a Dark World-tier movie. So incredibly disappointing.
It's a fun scene that goes on too long. It's like TW thought the word orgy was hilarious so he made Zeus say it ten times in two minutes.
I respect Hemsworth taking the fall for that movie even though it was Taika who phoned it in while also putting himself in the movie way too much. Hemsworth definitely hammed it up too much, but I don't think it would have mattered if that wasn't the case because of all the Korg stuff.
Taika has spread himself too thin. Seems like he's been working on 3 things at once for the past 5 years.
Never mind the time management issues involved in this, keeping the tones of the projects separate seems to be what bit him the most.
He absolutely should have died from the lightning bolt. It would have significantly raised the stakes for the second half of the movie.
If you post or simply lurk in this thread and aren't watching X-Men 97, what are you even doing with your life?
2 movies I was so fired up for and 2 movies I said “what the fuck” as I left and haven’t watched again
I honestly can't fucking believe the job they've done. Shit like X-Men 97 is the special stuff that makes you not want to give up on Marvel even when they've been pushing out garbage. Same for shit like Andor with Star Wars and Brave New Worlds with Star Trek. The whole Bastion introduction was amazing. Couldn't have done it any better.
The last 4-5 episodes of Andor are legitimately almost perfect and sometimes I will just start there and rewatch
The prison scenes are easily some of the best stuff that's ever been written. They wrote a fucking horror story without writing a horror story. And the subsequent speech and escape... *Chefs Kiss*
And to have this monologue be maybe the second best speech on the show is just preposterously good writing
URGENT: STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING IMMEDIATELY. We must congregate at this swamp to find and save Alligator Loki. I’ll bring the Cheetos.
Found this out in the wild. We got Sam with wings, Sam (or Isaiah?) with shield, Red Hulk, Red Wing, Joaquin Falcon, who are the girls? Is the Flag Smasher girl in this?
my 2 year old was running around the house with that red Hulk the other day and I had no idea where it came from. Now I know.
Not me watching the D&W trailer over and over again while heating up leftovers for lunch on a Saturday. I really think he pulls Wolverine from the Old Man Logan storyline, it fits in so well. The adamantium katanas are going to be bad ass. I also heard about this tweet getting talked about, who knows what direction they go.
