I have a niece that turned 2 in October and another that turns 2 in Feb. We've always made sure to give them presents that make a ton of noise.
my son (4 in February) wants one of the laser light things like someone else on our street has for Christmas lights. He's really into Christmas this year. Anyone have one of those or have suggestions? It's basically a laser that shines designs on your house.
well i just pulled a good one... forgot i had picked up a toy this morning for christmas and it was in the backseat of the truck when i loaded up the 3year old at daycare oops
My wife had been feeding our 14 month old lunch, then I took over halfway through. Figured the Mac and cheese he was eating had long since cooled down. It hadn’t. The look on his face when it started burning his tongue and his subsequent crying destroyed me. I felt so bad. After crying for a little while and drinking some cold milk he took it like a champ though. Got back in his high chair and finished the Mac n cheese. Seeing him hurting like that and knowing it was my fault was the worst though.
yea, that wasnt gunna work its a toy Weber grill, just like my Weber, and as soon as he saw it he knew it was for him, and was very verbal abouy it i tried to say it was for someone else and he should ask for one for his birthday, and yea, that wasnt getting amywhere ohh well, he loves it, has played with it constantly since we put it together, has told everyone he has talked to at daycare about it, told a random guy at the geocery store about it....
I can somewhat relate. I gave my son a taste of curry that was too spicy for him. His response was terrible. I also was a part of him getting a red pepper flake in his eye when I was letting him sniff every spice in our pantry. He decided to blow instead sniff and a flake flew into his eye. It was terrible and he seemed even more pissed when I put his head under the sink to flush his eyes.
We are the same. My boy will turn 4 in March, and this is the first Christmas that he has 100% understanding of what is going on. We bought one and he has begged to bring it into his room, and we will probably test that out after Christmas. Phillips makes a good one with lots of shape options (Target carries them). It only uses red and green lasers, though, so the Halloween laser displays (witches and bats) will look Christmas-y.
It didnt work, its what he has wanted, and he brought it up to the mother every now and then, and then we finally caved.
Welp, add me to the thread. Harrison Ryne H born Monday morning. 8 1/3 pounds 21.5inches. Amazing to see the birthing process and luckily we have great families willing to help out.
Well I found a woman that didn't see my health as a burden and now I'm really happy to say I'm going to be a dad. 13 weeks and had the big ultrasound and got pictures that was an amazing moment to share with her.
Wifes 35.5 weeks thought he was coming early yesterday but was false alarm. Her pregnancy has been a bit shitty ready for this dude to come peferably right at 37 weeks.
We're right over 35 weeks too. Due date is mid-January but my wife thinks it will be the week of Christmas. First two were early.
This is our first. They gave her something yesterday to slow/stop? contractions since they were 2-8 minutes apart. She's fairly immobile due to the back pains she started getting 2 days ago which was the main reason for the visit. Hoping these are signs that he'll be here early but trying to mentally prepare for the worst. I'm not sure how she could go 40+ but I suppose it's possible.
Our OB said they don't stop labor after 34 weeks, since that's considered full term. He said he anything after 36 is gravy though.
My daughter is 11 weeks old and is a pretty shitty sleeper. Doesn't take naps well unless you hold her the whole time. We started a bed time routine with her going down around 7 pm (probably moving this earlier asap as I think this is too late and she gets over tired) and she goes down pretty well for that. That first stretch is decent, 4-5 hours usually. The second one is also usually ok with almost always being at least 3 hours. It's after these two that it all goes to shit. From about 3 am till morning it's very inconsistent. How early did all you guys start sleep training? Our pediatrician is telling us it's time, her weight is awesome, she can obviously go 5+ hours, etc. I've just read and heard some things about her still being too young but I'm ready for some damn sleep.
My 14 month old got up at 2:30 last night and wouldn't go to bed until 4:45, my alarm goes off at 5:45. Pretty glad it's Friday.
Knock on fucking wood but she slept for 9.5 hours straight last night. Wife woke me up at 4 am and half kidding had me go check and make sure she was breathing. Opened the door and saw her flinch her arm and booked it out of there. This keeps up and it's going to be nice to feel half way like a normal rested adult.
Great start. Oldest one got it right away. Middle one took some time. Youngest got it right away. I did all 3 bc wife wouldn’t/couldn’t let them cry. It was worth it for me bc of needing to sleep again.
T's and P's please. Wife just took our 10mo old to the ER. She's making noises in her crib, wife picked her up and she won't stop shaking or wake up. I'm home with the 3 year old while so it sucks not being there. She's been perfectly healthy. She had a little cough today so we gave her some zarbees cough medicine but that's it. No other issues other than normal baby stuff.
They just got back home. Doctors are saying she had a fever seizure. Her temp was 102 at the ER. She didn't have a fever when she went to bed. They said sometimes it can happen if the temp spikes suddenly. If she has another one in the next 24 hrs we need to take her to the children's hospital.
Can someone explain Shopkins to me? Some are smaller and called happy places? Some are bigger? Why do they have RFID codes on them... and why did my daughter all of a sudden decide she needs a ton of them for xmas.
I know that they are those really small rubber things that my kids love. Seem like a choking hazard to me, but for whatever reason my kids love those things. hope that helps.
Glad she’s ok, that does happen - and it’s terrifying. Last night me and my wife were talking about the couple scares we had when our daughter was younger and just talking about them still makes my heart stop, as awesome as it is being a parent it’s fucking scary sometimes.
Just got back from the pediatrician on a follow up about the 10 month olds seizure from this weekend. He was very knowledgeable about the firbile seizures. Bottom line he’s sending us to a neurologist. Said the one she had was atypical since it lasted longer than 10 minutes. He said around 1 is when kids start showing if they’re prone to seizures. He said if she has another one and it’s lasting longer than 5 minutes to call an EMS because one episode over 15 min can cause brain damage. I feel like I have no wind in my sails knowing what might happen. I don’t think I’m going to be able to sleep again since I’m not going to want to take an eye off her.
Ugh, that really sucks. I will say that my brother had a couple of seizures around that age and he grew out of it.
My gf woke me up crying from pain in her right side. We rushed to the ER but the ultrasound showed she and the baby are okay. Heart rate for the baby was 150. First real scare, that was terrifying
