I wouldn’t say it’s better, but it works pretty well. I like the X. I don’t close out my apps as nearly often.
Yep Yep, DirecTV Now. Currently in the beta that has DVR and a new guide (I never use DVR though). My main complaint is that it cannot bitstream audio formats so I can't get Dolby Atmos or TrueHD from the Apple TV. They are.....suppose...to add this at some point. I can get Atmos from Netflix on the Xbox though so I'm not too worried about it. Any particular questions about it?
Our bedroom apple tv crapped out so I was thinking of moving our 1080p one in there and buying the 4k. Been mulling over cutting the cable and doing something like directv now but I want to make sure Ive got options with the Apple 4k.
I highly recommend cutting the cord. I did 5 years ago and haven't looked back. The only reason I sub to DirecTV Now is bc my daughter is all about some Disney Jr and Nick Jr. We rarely (almost never) use the actual DirecTV Now app (a traditional TV experience with a guide and DVR in beta). Instead we just use the sign in creds on the individual apps like ESPN, Fox Sports, Disney Now, Nick Jr, AMC, HBO Go, etc.

Get an antenna if you want all the locals. I think Hulu and/or YouTube is the only streaming TV provider that gets all the locals.
got apple watch 3 + cellular. At first I was hesitant to drop that much, first because i generally end up getting annoyed of watches, and I do have a fitbit. but then I saw it had TigerText support which we use at the hospital, and that sold me. I underestimated how much I would use this watch. Makes things much easier. But I don't like that I can't get a constant HR just normally, and I don't like that I cannot change what the actual activity displays. Can't put in a step goal and count that directly on the display? I mean come on, that's just dumb and apple being basic as fuck.
Okay I have the iPhone 7+ and have been debating on upgrading to the X. Is it worth it? Plus AT&T has that iPad special for $99 with a $10 a month for service... if you buy a new iPhone.
my series 1 watch is not making any sounds today for some reason. haptic feedback still works, percentage is 60%, tried restart... will see if it fixes itself throughout the day or once i can put it on the charger. edit: somehow it got put on silent mode.
Personal preference. Many here (including me) love the X. It's smaller than the + with a great edge-to-edge screen. Facial recognition has caused me no problems, I like the gestures, etc. Its not the earth shattering tech advancement some thought, but I'm not looking back one bit.
My opinion is similar. I went 7 to X so the screen size was a vast improvement. The Facial is far superior to fingerprint with apps that require security imo, and the speed and battery life is much improved. The wireless charging is a strong advancement as well, but I agree, it is not a major leap that I expected. The gestures are so thoughtless that you wonder why you ever needed a home button, but I do leave apps open more now then before.
In settings you can turn on a feature on screen that will replace it in accessiblity. Can’t recall the name, but if you can get to your settings that may be helpful.
Has anyone bought aftermarket leather bands for the watch? Trying to find one for my girlfriend. They seem very cheap or very expensive.
Nah, I have the 7 Plus and it’s only a little over a year old. I’m going to be fucking pissed if they try to pull some bullshit on me when I go later today
See my posts from a few pages back. Go to Apple store, be polite & reasonable... you’ll likely leave with a replacement iPhone
I have an aftermarket band for mine from Clockworksynergy.com. Their stuff is reasonably priced and you get some customization options which is nice.
My phone plan is 37 a month per line. Company will pay 100 for my phone. Just makes sense to have it.
I just got the X and really like it, but it’s still just an iPhone. One thing tho, my previous phone was paid off so I went to their website and priced them out, and my bill was about 25 bucks more than they stated. I am on a family plan with my siblings but there are some fees attached they don’t tell you about.
I am thinking about getting an Apple Watch. Never really worn a watch. Have a Fitbit now. Cool story.
as in your carrier bill? that's bc carriers give you a $25 credit every month for using an "out of contract" phone
I mean, it's nice to be able to look at your watch to see a notification instead of your phone all the time, but other than that, I have no use for it. I also hated having to charge it every other day so I rarely wear it anymore.
Yeah, I don’t really know. My sister gets the Verizon bill and it worked out to like 95 bucks for my line instead of the 71 like calculated. She sent me the bill but I couldn’t seem to figure out why.
They ordered me another phone and it won't be here until Tuesday. They gave me a 5S to use in the meantime. I forgot how damn small these phones are. Ugh
I couldn’t have been more skeptical. It’s great. Still a little annoying when I can’t unlock it while it’s on my desk charging dock but whatever. Still haven’t tried out the wireless charging with my loopy case but I really don’t care if it doesn’t work. The loopy takes the priority without question.
