Traffic getting to Asheville today has been a fucking nightmare. What usually takes a little over 2 hours is going to end up taking like 4
I won't intentionally go anywhere for it but I'm sure it will be on places. About to head down and get some drinks somewhere, maybe do the downtown after 5 thing, then head over to gan shan station for dinner
Sitting in Catawba watching the world cup and a 10 person bachelor party just walked in with 9 dudes in black rompers and the groom in a white one
We've become huge fans of the (relatively new) cocktail bar The Times on this trip. It's fantastic and I recommend if you like high end cocktails or you're looking to impress someone
I'm sure a lot of people ITT have seen, but Salt and Smoke I believe is getting it's own brick and mortar spot and Burial is taking over their food operation. Saw it was a chef from another local chef they put in charge but don't know much about him.
Salt and smoke already had their spot open for a little while, it's called Vivian. I have not been. When I was at burial a few weeks ago salt and smoke was unexpectedly closed due to "staffing issues" according to the signs on the door. They had some random person in that thing slinging food that day, though. The chef is really well regarded, but I haven't been to his place either
driving up in the morning- staying through friday afternoon. gona hit for sure: buxton hall gan shan red ginger sunny point south slope breweries bhramari mt. mitchell trail kurt vile at orange peel what did i miss? probably looking to do another hike or two. ~4ish mile loops ideally.
Chai pani if you like Indian. Whatever the fuck that cocktail bar I referenced is named if you like high end cocktails. The times sounds right
It is called Sovereign Remedies now, not sure where I got RPM unless it was called that a few months ago and changed. It is right behind Mellow Mushroom though like Ark said. Definitely go to Burial for some beer. I also went to Over Easy Cafe for breakfast, that place is pretty good, the bacon was phenomenal.
Forgot to post in here but had a great time at the bachelor party in Asheville a couple weeks ago. Went to tons of breweries which were all cool. New Belgium, Funkatorium ,Twin Leaf, Wicket Weed, Hi-Wire, Catawba, Highland, Wedge, Green Man, Burial. Think that was all of them. The second day we did a brewery tour and by the fourth one we were all too drunk and everything started blending together after that. Favorite was probably Funkatorium because I love sours and it was from the first night that I actually remember. We didn't even go to dinner the first two nights because we were drunk idiots so just ended up eating at a couple food trucks. Ended up at Treasure Club late the second night which had surprisingly good talent. The last full day we floated down the French Broad which was really cool and relaxing. Overall very cool city, will definitely go back.
rainbow falls is a gorgeous hike. 2 people have died in the last 2 weeks because they decided they wanted to go over the falls
If you could pick one hike in the asheville area, what would it be? One of us is pregnant (not saying who), so it probably needs to be ~3 miles or less
as far as short and great view points, craggy pinnacle is very nice https://www.hikewnc.info/besthikes/craggy-gardens/craggy-pinnacle

the chili’s bar and grill by the airport is the finest of dining. a great location with great service
I’m headed up there Friday night before a little hiking Saturday. Gotta avoid having too many beers before the hike the next day...
