Had tacos with cheese as the shell (wife used shredded cheese in the oven to make them). We’re amazing...but now I know I’m lactose intolerant.
I gave into temptation and had some green beans tonight. Made sure to sauté them in an entire stick of butter though. On what I’m sure is an unrelated note it seems every 3 or 4 days my bhole just explodes, this is one of those times.
Day 3 down and everything is going pretty well. The only side effect is I absolutely shut down after 3pm. I have zero energy the rest of the day. Hoping to push through by the weekend.
Question for the thread: what made you decide to go full Keto vs just limiting processed carbs and focusing on whole foods with a more traditionally balanced diet? I’ve had great luck with the latter (never overweight, but back down to my HS weight range, even with the booze), and I don’t have to obsess over macros or eat spoonfuls of butter. Is it purely a weight loss thing? More philosophical? Dietary preference? Not judging in the slightest, but it does seem like a lot of you are experiencing fairly gnarly side effects on a consistent basis, or being forced to supplement and otherwise turning to different lengths to keep the diet going...
It’s about achieving ketosis brah. I’m basically the blonde vegan bassist in Scott Polgrim vs the World when I’m in ketosis.
As someone who isn't all that serious because my lifestyle doesn't lend itself to it, it's really easy for me and things like spoonfuls of butter or excessive mayo aren't a thing. I drop all carbs for a while between times where excessive beer and other carb consumption is necessary and don't really even notice. The only thing that bothers me is missing Asian noodln dishes and excessive certain fruits which I would eat by the boat load
It’s quick weight loss. I can adjust once the weight is off to maintain, but to get to here I’ve shown I’m bad at moderation. Also, lots more energy.
I’m trying to lose weight. Once I lose the weight I will look into other options but keto is pretty doable.
I ate a very low carb, low fat, high protein diet for years. I’m just doing it to try something new and give advice where I can
Ive been trying to use it as an excuse as much as possible. "Hey JY would you mind helping us move some furniture this weekend." "I cant I'm in ketosis."
I decided to it because I’ve had a hard time getting below 190 and not starving myself. I am not feeling any ill effects but I am eating a lot of vegetables and berries. So I am not on one of those let me eat all the fat and no vegetables or fruits keto diets. This is working for so far.
Wife made this tonight and substituted or removed where necessary for keto. Crazy good with cauliflower rice. http://www.thedefineddish.com/whole30-thai-basil-beef-pad-gra-prow/
I think I’m now in it for the pork skins alone. First time I had them in my life and they’re pretty fuckin good.
Everyone should buy these pork rinds. Their jerky is delicious too https://store.epicbar.com/collections/pork-skins
She took them out of the oven and then laid them over a few long wooden spoons so it folded over. Real question is, why do we have 3 wooden spoons?
It’s tough to be picky if you’re doing this kind of dieting - your food selection is already pretty restrictive so you need to go into it with more of an open mind
Can only find one brand here, checked like 20 places. Grocery stores don’t have them. It was like I was trying to find $1.59 delicacy. Anyhow got the Mac’s Chicharrones spicy buffalo wings. Only option I’ve seen thus far. I’m still hunting.
I understand how the internet works, pal. I’m just amazed how hard they are to find here. Wasn’t prepared to drop $16 on something that I’d have no clue if I liked. But a week ago I learned people like pork rinds. It almost took 4 decades of life to hear that and I never saw one IRL. TIL there are cunty pork rinds. I can get behind that.
That I make on my own but I love to try random brands for ideas. Highly recommend a good dehydrator if you don’t have one.
Both actually. Do deer for two friends that hunt. Primarily I do beef for myself, never hunted. Probably would lean more beef just because of fat, but it’s not a landslide decision.
since MCT oil is the topic de jour today I think we should all learn about the differences between short, medium and long chain fats/triglycerides. Don’t get caught up in all the buzzwords and throw your money away. I’ll post more about that topic tomorrow but if anyone has any immediate questions feel free to ask
