It is just returning to shelves here. It was new last fall, but it was taken off because they couldn't keep it in stock.
My fiancé has been really worried about Carbs. She loves fruit and was happy she could still have raspberries and blackberries. But then saw they have lots of carbs. I’ve seen berries recommended on multiple sites. Should we be more worried about “net carbs” than the posted carbs? She was pretty defeated about it last night thinking she was doing everything wrong.
No idea what this is but I definitely approve. Yesterday my food consumption consisted of 4 strips of bacon and 2 eggs fried in bacon grease with sriracha.
Pint of rebel ice cream straight from the freezer, too hard and chalky for me Microwave 30 seconds, I might not be able to stop myself from eating the whole pint of creamy goodness
Here was my approach, coming from a few different angles of being on diets because I’m stupid. So the goal is ketosis. That said, if your spiking you’re carbs by eating a ton of broccoli, cauliflower or say berries it’s not a horrible life option. You can do a million worse things in terms of eating food, which, we’ve all been there. Now please keep in mind they fall within parameters and can be compliant. I’m not advocating eating 17 potatoes and 6 bananas. Just saying if that’s her pleasure it’s a hell of a lot better than eating empty calories like a roll, pizza, cake or any other shit we like to cheat with.
Absolutely. For me I can eat and regulate 7 ounces of berries if I need something to satisfy a craving. Let's say that's ten net carbs. What I personally can't do is grab a slice of pizza and eat 2 or 3 bites (or whatever you want to say ten net is) and be done. My brain is more like, pizza, fuck yeah let's crush 3 slices.
What's everyone's go to drinks? I know we're supposed to drink a lot of water, but sometimes I want something with some flavor. Are gatorade zero's ok? Other juices? Coke Zero?
I am sure some on here will scoff at Powerade and Gatorade zero but I find them great. Enough flavor difference from water and the label looks fine for the most part. They also have some electrolytes/sodium that is helpful. I usually drink one in the evening and that satisfies the craving of something other than water.
Gatorade zero, iced tea, and Diet Coke or diet Pepsi. This is not an endorsement of the pop’s nutrition, just my reality.
I started Keto this past Sunday. I'm pretty hungry but doing fine so far. Low carb wraps are a god send. My issue is snacking, what do you guys snack on with this?
Cheese, beef jerky/sticks, pork rinds. I also noticed cocktail peanuts are listed as 1g net carbs per 1/4 cup, so those every once in a while.
You’ll get past hunger soon. You’ll notice that less quantities of food that’s not empty carbs will satisfy you. You’ll also notice that if you eat a significant amount of carbs like a big bowl of noodles that used to stuff you, you’ll still feel really hungry.
Racer nailed it, after a couple weeks of ketosis you don’t really have a desire to snack, at least I don’t. It seems to take a couple weeks for your brain to realize you are not going through those insulin/glucagon roller coaster spikes all day long. One day you’ll look at the clock and realize it’s 8 PM and you haven’t ate/snacked or had the desire to all day.
I'm always hungry even in Ketosis. Pork rinds , cheese, deli meat, celery, certain nuts, and processed Keto bars/cookies. Try avoid the last one but sometimes I gotta....
I am eating 80f 20c 125p everyday and its a struggle to eat my macros. I typically do 20/4 or 18/6 IM.
Do you guys have a program or calculator you use to set your macros? I used a keto site 35lb ago and probably need to revaluate soon.
Glad that works for you, but that’s technically not keto, right? Isn’t 70-75% of calories from fat the recommendation, and you’re about 50%? Again, if it’s working, great.
I use Cronometer. Im getting back on board tomorrow. Went out for lunch and had some pizza, bought a couple random brews for tonight. Also purchased some Quest pizza which I am looking forward to trying.
Fat is your lever of weight loss. I can eat and be in Ketosis and not lose weight, you can most certainly even gain weight on Keto. When you eat at a deficit the macro you reduce is fat.
That is crazy. I have to force myself to eat when in Ketosis. I could go days without eating and not be hungry. Only food I've ever craved on keto is pizza.
I wish that were me. I drink a lot of water and Tea and it helps. Just putting something on my stomach appeases it a bit.
After the first week it gets much easier. Also, I’ve found that if I do have a snack, it makes me hungrier, so I limit that.
Yes I am. My point is that people are different. People new to ketosis shouldn't think they are guaranteed to not be hungry.
I’m chomping a triple serving of net zero carb fiber chews each day and still not much action. I wonder if I’m just eating less to actually poop out plus increased fat burn. Who knows.
Once well adjusted on keto you basically should poop a few times a week max. I’m 1.5 months in keto consecutively. No stomach pain like on normal food no bad cramps small easy poos.
