it varies from post to post or if i’m on mobile or computer im willing to try a different app, i would upload them directly but sometimes the videos won’t work
I don't know why I buy anything other than beetle spins and assorted Panter Martin and Mepps spinners.
You been on the Hooch any this spring? Heading down to 30A next week and hoping I can dumb luck walk into a red or pomp from the beach.
No it's fine. I've used it too for shorter clips vs Youtube. I don't know of a better option, was just making sure it wasn't something in my settings causing it.
Not with the rains, went up the Chestatee looking for stripers but only found panfish. Had a great float on the Flint last month with two 20" shoal bass. Spoiler I've seen some great beach red pics this spring.
i purchased Jimmy Jacob’s book on trout fishing. i’ll need to learn the bass some though. since there isn’t much smallmouth i’ll need a replacement.
Him and Polly are good folks, you should join the fly fishing club if you're in Atlanta. We're going back to Manual's in person next month. Think we're gonna go back to fly tying in person at Sweetwater this wednesday too. Our stripers put Georgia over the top for me. Believe Sweetwater Creek is my next target, the spillway from the resevoir to the Hooch.
Henry's Cowen's book for stripers and check out the red eye bass guys in Alabama, we're within 2 hours from the Tallapoosa and Talladega drainages.
sadly ill be just outside of Clemson. usually i dont mind driving a couple of hours for a day trip. i haven’t gotten a striper on my flyrod. i tried a few times in TN and below Lake Murray with no luck. i’ll be upgrading the car after my move and plan to install my roof rack, so i can get the canoe in use again. should be able to float a bit provide there are shuttle services.
billdozer i went to the chauga yesterday and expected it to be quiet. i saw 7 guys out there and everyone had a stringer full. delayed harvest wipes em out quick.
Yeah, I saw some posts from Saturday where it was basically combat fishing out there. Wife and kids are going out of town this weekend, so it's a weekend full of fishing. Going to do some hiking in this weekend to try some spots.
i'd be ready to hike for sure. although you fish further up than i do. i messed around and didn't make it a 1/2 mile above the hell hole.
I've had really good success 1/2 mile downstream of Hellhole. I'm planning on trying to get to Ellicott Rock this weekend. I've never gone past where the East Fork dumps into the Chattooga. I think the East Fork is about halfway to it.
Big striper in Lake Hartwell and shoals and/or smallmouth in some of the bigger rivers in north georgia and WNC. The Etowah north of Atlanta is a great float for smallmouth on the Allatoona side and stripers below the dam coming from Lake Weiss. You're gonna need to hit the coast for reds too, that's a great location to set up shop.
The only time I catch a fish that I'm intentionally dragging across the top of is when I manage to hook them awkwardly
yeah I should have taken my time and got a good cast but man my heart was pumping. Love sight fishing for them
i found this site and it's got a lot of the bass ranges listed. https://gadnrwrd.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=360c1018b643486ea704dc1a5888c1b7 a few years back a friend and i took a couple of trips to the harbor river in beaufort, sc. caught an inshore slam my first time out. Spoiler
This is incredible, thank you. Those two NW GA red eye drainages overlap with the 5 red eye species in Alabama. They're in the Talladega National Forest and Tallapoosa drainage. I've done a few red eye kayak tournaments on the Tallapoosa with Project Healing Waters.
Nothing fancy, but got out from shore at a local lake for the first time in like 5 years on Wednesday. These guys were biting, had a great time.
Cleaned and re-spooled four reels last night in anticipation of getting out more this year. I'm a whore for Zebco 11T's on ultralight rods for panfish, have a few tucked away after they stopped making them. I know, a "kid's reel" but I love the simplicity.
Long fishing weekend got delayed a week, but did get to go today. Got the SC slam with all 3 types of trout, a few chubs, and a small bass. Kept a few this time to cook up at home.
