Did like 8 pizzas and 10 lbs of wings for the boys first birthday party yesterday Was a success all around Wild experience He was a champion Not so much today
Trying to get junior some better learning activities at home. Doing good with puzzles but don't have a ton else to challenge him. Anyone have this, something similar, or something totally different they'd recommend for a 3.5 yo We like that he has no clue what an iPad even is right now but my thought is we'd only bring it out during structured times and I don't see it becoming an issue with him.
Its probably been said in this thread a couple times, but the speed these little suckers develop is incredible to me. A week and a half ago, I basically had to hold my little guy when he wanted to stand up and hold onto the sofa or something. A couple days after that he started to put together how to crawl around effectively. We have done a ton of tummy time hoping it would help with his core strength and he was fine laying on his stomach but just had not put it together in how to crawl. Within like 2-3 days he was full on crawling and standing up when holding onto the couch by himself. We got a crib that converts to a bed and the mattress gets lowered. I ended up lowering it to the lowest setting a week or so ago and last night dude woke up, sat up, reached over and pulled himself up and was just looking around the room last night. I just laughed.
Have you looked into this? I have seen it advertised a bunch. My wife has looked at it and then just bought similar stuff off Amazon.
My two year old has known what an iPad is for like four months. I don’t know how she learned that since I use my iPad like once a month.
Barely at all. I saw it at Best Buy yesterday and digging in now. Reviews look great from what I've seen so far. 4.7 from 5,000 reviews on Amazon, 4.8 on Best Buy
Today was the first day my 5 y/o had in person school in 14 months. She didn't need summer school at all academically, but we wanted her to get used to it before first grade. I freaked out when they called at 1 pm, thinking it was because she was being an asshole. They just asked if my wife was picking her up every day. She handled it like a champ. Whew.
11 year old phone review tonight 3-6 hours per day screen time devoted to Tiktok. Even quite a bit of that during school hours (school at home). Damnit. I’m working during the day and haven’t been on top of that. Implementing screen time limits. I can’t just take it all away, need to teach her to self regulate. May be shooting a little too high there at this age but I have to try right
All of these apps are focused on keeping your attention on the app for as long as possible. For $$, that's it. That's what I want her to understand. It's good content, I get it, fuck I was addicted to that app for a while watching it for hours per day. It's entertaining as fuck. I eventually just deleted the app.
Picked up my daughter from her last day of Kindergarten. She was so happy but after a couple minutes in the car she said she was sad. She was going to miss her friends. She started naming off a bunch of kids she wants in her class next year. Her teacher said she was the social butterfly of the group. I felt bad for a while myself for her.
I've been a dad for almost three years now, but I just officially became a DAD when my toddler literally projectile vomited on me.
My 4 yo asks 800,000 questions a day. How many ants are there in the world? What’s 23x45? Where do sharks live? Who has more hair? Dogs or cats? A question that came up today was “what’s the biggest nut in the world?” My response was “Deez” “What are deez nuts?” “Go ask mom” So he went running inside yelling “MOM MOM MOM TELL ME ABOUT DEEZ NUTS I WANNA SEE DEEZ NUTS”
Backyard camping attempt #1. We did hotdogs and s’mores over the fire and now I’m trying to calm my kids down for sleep. 10% chance we make it all night.
Walked into the bedroom and I heard a startled gasp. Turned the corner and my two year old walks up to me with her hands behind her back acting innocent while there is an iPad three feet away. She obviously knows it’s not a toy but she can’t help and try to hack my passcode. Pretty hard not to laugh.
Went out to an outdoor market/bar place in downtown San José with my 20 month old and some friends……they have a stage for music so my son was out there dancing of course to the 90s/00s hip hop music from the bar next door……..there are a bunch of girls next door yelling and dancing so I pick him up so he can see and the girls all start yelling things at him and he’s loving the attention from the young ladies…..I set him down and he immediately comes back to me wanting to be picked up and shown to the ladies again, I then set him down again and he made a run to try to get into the bar
oldest finished kindergarten and youngest turned 3 in the last couple of days. how does this happen so fast pls stop
6 yo went inside at 2am because he was cold 4 yo woke up at 4:30 screaming because he had no idea where he was I’d call that a successful first night of camping
So my sons kindergarten teacher is selling gifts that kids got her this year for Christmas and end of year on Facebook. My wife was looking at her profile and noticed stuff we got her for Christmas being sold. She could at least regift if it instead of selling it. She was a shifty teacher. It was her first year. Looks like she’s twelve.
I just joined this esteemed club a couple weeks ago. Absolutely exhausted but completely in love with the little dude.
Did she advertise to the class she was doing this or your wife just happened to see? Either way super weird
